Ok, will not be around to debate the draft today, got to go to work and then meeting friends at the bar to watch the draft....
Anyway.....
Sounds like they are looking at 3 people as of last night.
Andre Smith---a few teams might trade up for the number five pick...Or Cleveland might draft this guy.
I say, play the game untill the last minute and see what comes out of it, I DO NOT WANT A LINEMAN in the first round.
Crabtree---If he is there, you either listen to trade offers, or you draft the guy.
Knowshon Moreno--I don't think they go this route, since getting Benson back and having Perry/Watson/Russel/Dorsey/Johnson all fighting to become the back up.
I do believe they will draft offense in the first round...sounds more and more liek they are going to draft the kid from Alabama...I will not like the pick at all.
I just believe that they can find a starting tackle in the later rounds if they believe that they need to find a starting tackle, and I am not sure that Marvin is 100% dead set on needing a startign tackle...
Rey Maualuga is still my choice.

Maualuga has fallen out of the top half of the first round in most mock drafts. I wonder if he'll end up in Baltimore. It would be, "Rey is the heir apparent for Ray-Ray."
As much as I want to see the Bengals grab an offensive tackle, Aaron Curry sounds like a much better pick than the maturity-challenged Andre Smith. Maybe he would be a better pass rusher in Zimmer's defense. Too bad there's not much of a chance that he'll fall to six.

According to the majority of fans, the Bengals had a perfect day 1.
Got the great tackle from Bama and got a playmaker on defense.
Smith----I would rather have had Oher than Smith. Smith is said to have better skills, but Oher is a much better person that will not have issues on or off the field, where as Smith could be a huge headache. From his predraft drama, to his lack of care for his body, it just spells trouble in my eyes, but whatever, you guys got your sloppy fat guy in round 1.
Rey ---Second best draft pick the Bengals have ever had. Carson being the best player they have ever drafted and now this guy. Why he fell to them in the second round is a mind blower, but who cares, they got a guy that will be the leader of this defense in a very short span of time.
So, I am happy with what happend, if they did not get Rey, I would have called this draft a failure based on the talent that was there at 6 and the Bengals passing up a chance to take it to the next level.
I was watching the draft and sitting there laughing at some of the teams...Kansas city? oakland?
Cleveland played a very smart game yesterday, as much as I hate Cleveland, I have to give them props.
Today should be filled with alot of guys that can fill depth and maybe 1 or 2 guys that can come in and play right now...
Wideout is going to be a pick early I think.

Day 2 names that I wouldn't mind seeing in stripes...
Jon Cooper---- Center ---Oklahoma, be a nice 3rd round pick, solid center from a solid program
Cedric Peerman---TB---Virginia
Hunter Cantwell---qb---Louisville
Jasper Brinkley---ILB---South Carolina---great tackler
Garrett Reynolds---OT---North Carolina---
Turner the wideout from USC is not a bad name either, very tall, decent speed, good hands.
Byrd from cincinnati, a small DT, but very productive, might get him as a freeagent after the draft, but you got 9 picks left, and not a very deep draft.
I would like to see the Cooper kid to start the day off, gives them a center they need and he was the anchor of that Sooner Oline.
Hoyer from Michigan State or Harrell from Texas Tech are 2 other names to note...very accurate passers, but lack the size that NFL teams want, but very productive players.
I would be very happy with Brinkley at some point today...he can flat out hit you in the mouth.
I am happy so far, like I said, would rather have Oher than Smith, but only time will tell.
they daved themselves when they got lucky with Rey in the second round.

How many people on this board actually wanted Smith? I mean, yeah, we all wanted a "fat guy" (by your reckoning) but did we say we wanted that fat guy? Don't put words in people's mouths.
And Rey Rey fell to the second round...the Bengals GASP decided not to waste a pick on someone they could get later. This is the first time in the history of the Bengals I think I've ever been able to say that.
But I'm still pi$$ed that Mikey's GM bonuses are getting overshadowed by all this,

I'd have to say Munoz is the best player the Bengals ever drafted... better than Palmer.

You people suck.
Cry and cry and cry and cry...who gives 2 sh1ts about the front office getting a bonus?
I want to watch football, I don't give a sh!t about the other stuff that has no reflection of the players in uniform.
I am not jazzed up over Smith, but by all acounts, from every single scout, to all fo the talkign heads on tv and reports from a great football coach, the Smith kid is a solid FOOTBALL player.
So, whatever, you wanted a fat guy, you got a fat guy that can play FOOTBALL.
Rey Maualuga was an aboslute steal.
Kyper a yearly Bengal basher, just said that the Bengals are havign a great draft.
I agree with the annoying idiot, the Bengals are having one of thier best drafts in a long time, of course, nobody knows if the players will pan out, but as of today, and all of the rankings and interviews are done, the Bengals have had a great draft so far.
What do you get on here?
"this guy has this issues and this guy has that issue and hte front office got a bonus"
Follow another fuching team if you can't enjoy the team doing something right for once.
My lord, you would think people would be a tad bit pumped that they got lucky and got a first round talent in the second and 3rd round.
Whatever...I think they ae having a solid draft, got what they needed early and now will fill voids for depth...

This is shaping up to be the best draft in some time, but of course the reality is that the Bengals have tremendous difficulty developing players and building team chemistry. No way am I getting excited about things just yet. Marvin is a buffoon and the clown is still calling the shots. Any team that drafts near the top of the board should get some good players -- blue chippers and "value picks" who slipped out of the last round for various reasons. A great crop of rookies does not a good team make. Like Marvin says, I see better than I hear.

"You people suck. ... Cry and cry and cry and cry..."
So glad the drafting of Maualuga has put you in a magnanimous mood, Murf. Yep, plenty of back slapping all around.
You said recently that we'd probably whine if the Bengals won the Super Bowl. Well, the Bengals draft your guy and most posters are praising the draft. And here you are, grouse... grouse... grouse... grouse.. grouse.
"I want to watch football, I don't give a sh!t about the other stuff that has no reflection of the players in uniform. "
No reflection on the players? Sorry, the operations of the front office are intrinsically tied to what happens on the field. Friday's news helps chronicle the machinations of the Brown Family and how they short-shrift most efforts aimed at winning. Take it as a given that we'll be griping about it here on Mike Brown Sucks dot com.
