David Bruton played for the Irish and was drafted 114 overall by the Broncos. Im definitley pulling for this guy.


Graduated from Miamisburg (Ohio) High School ... Made 54 tackles, three interceptions and broke up seven passes as a senior ... Caught 10 passes for 200 yards as a receiver ... Averaged 41 yards on four kickoff returns ... Earned All-Division I-II all-area honors from Dayton Daily News ... Won all-district honors on defense ... All-conference and special mention all-Southwest Ohio as a junior ... As a junior in 2003, intercepted eight passes, made 58 tackles and had 270 receiving yards ... Attended Notre Dame football camp in the summer of 2004 ... Coached by Tim Lewis.

He is pretty solid against the run, but has trouble covering fast wideouts.
Kind of like Ndukwe was at Notre Dame, and he turned out to be decent for the Bengals.

The only Irish player drafted...there were only 2 on the list....

I feel you. As I have mention ed a couple of times, Kenny Britt is from my high school. He was not the first player drafted, but the first since Dahnan Hugues was drafted out of Iowa by the Chiefs some years ago. Britt also has the "honor" of being the first player in Rutgers history to be drafted in the first round.

He also said that Bengals president Mike Brown, along with Lewis, is concerned with the club-record list of players on injured reserve this past season and the team plans to examine the issue.
