Big Willie could provide depth, leadership, and knows the system.Think that makes him worth bringing back for one more year?I'd say yes ~Lumina~

Willie would not only provide much needed depth, but would be the idea mentor for a young Andre Smith.

But yeah, won't happen.

He can't even walk. He should have retired 2-3 years ago and will regret not doing so in the very near future. Big Willie meet Reggie Williams.

He probably didn't want to retire until he won a playoff game. Once he got free of mikey that dream became a reality. Unfortunately he'll be paying for that the rest of his life. One more reason to hate the hole.

Yeah, it's not that unusual when a player spends one year on a team to win a championship he couldn't win somewhere else. But to spend one year on a team just to win a PLAYOFF game? That's sad.

Willie bought the local franchise rights of "Fatburger" and there is now a Fatburger restaurant in Cincinnati. For this alone he should be inducted into the HOF. Not to mention the fact he was the stud RT of the NFL for several years in a row. It's sad to see him go but he needs to start healing his body now. Maybe Alexander should bring him back as an OL special asst.

HE should retire as a Bengal. If Mikey has half a brain, he will ask Willie to come back to the first game and retire his #.

OK--other than stupid coaching--if Willie was the stud that he was--why wasn't he ever shifted to Left Tackle?

Wow, are you that fukking dumb?

There are people that play right tackle that cant play left tackle at the same level.

There are also people that play left tackle that cant play right tackle at the same level. Willie is a natural right tackle. He is a road grader (and a good pass protector).

I agree...it would be nice to see the Bungs air on the side of class and not frugality. Willie put his heart and soul into a franchise that gave him little back other than a paycheck.

Congrats to big Willie on a great NFL career!

we need a ring of honor or something...so that we can honor a player without retiring a number. There are only so many numbers out there. Willie was great, but in my opinion, retiring a number requires more than being a great player on a terrible team. He would have had to have been exceptional and by that I mean a good enough leader to lead the team into the playoffs either a deep run, or for multiple shorter runs.

Sorry Willie, I thought you were awesome, but not HOF.

He should go in the Bengals Hall of Fame

Oh forgot, Bengals don't have a HOF

That what LT's do. They road grade--and they protect their QB's Left Side. You get switched over when you are a stud. So no, I'm not a dumb f*ck. wink.gif

Falcon,

You do understand that not all players who play left tackle can play right tackle, right?
