Considering the 2009 Draft and free agents acquired I believe the Bengals will improve significantly compared to last year. I think this was probably one of the best drafts I can remember and addressed some key issues. For one the Offensive line will have to improve and drafting a center and a OT will help build a decent line. I dont mean they will be the best line in the NFL but they have to be better than last year. As far as Center anyone who plays has to be a great improvement over guycheck. This guy was a scrub and should have never been on a high school team let alone a NFL team. In saying that I believe the Offense will improve on their 2008 season but be below their 05 season. I think <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Chad will have a good year as well as Palmer. Chad knows he has to have a break out year or he will be bust with no stock in his future.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The Defense I believe did improve last year and will continue to improve this year as well. Drafting a linebacker and adding Tank as well as Roy Williams will add to the depth of the team. I liked the Addition of Roy Williams because even though he is an older veteran he does add fire to the defense and this is something they lack. A lot of the times they seem to be just going through the motions. The only exception is Peko who never seems to take plays off.

This saying Im not looking for a run to the super bowl but a decent year with the Bengals finishing 9-7 and maybe a wildcard spot.

At the least, I hope the team is competitive this year. Don't get me wrong, I know this is Mike Brown's high-water mark and even if they are competitive I plan to spend exactly $0 on Bungs merchandise and tickets this year and next.

But still, I would rather watch competitive football than masochistically suffer through 3 hours of predictably grueling tragedy without even a moments false hope.

I know I should be able to just change the channel, but for some reason I can't. Maybe its because even crappy football is better than great golf or racing (sorry golf and racing fans, just my personal opinion).

By the way, good to know you are still around Fulch.

Nothing was worse than watching that Eagles game last year...truly pathetic football...

I look at the bungs season like an ugly kid in college. Buy some beer and plan on a successful evening, but it just ends with empty bottles and thoughts of "what should have been".
