I agree with that statement about Huber. If you believe in Tressel Ball...the bengals can now play field position. Just like OSU....run for 3 yards...run for no gain....incomplete pass....punt 60 yards....play strong D....repeat...
I think Huber has a helacious leg....he will be valuable.

Sometimes punters have a hard time transitioning from college to pro.
However, this kid has a lead foot. He was far and away the best punter in college football last year. He apparently can hang them for 4-5 seconds and should easily net over 40 yards (assuming our gunners perform well).

I agree with bronco (great googly moogly did I just say that?) that punters usually have trouble in the pro's for a while. I think the reason for this is that special teams coaches meddle with them a lot. NFL punters are more interested in hang time that pure distance because it's important that punt returners don't have a 15 yard head of steam after catching the ball. The idea is to have a gunner in his face when he catches the ball. So hang time and being able to control your distance are paramount. And the article on the Bungs website has Huber already crediting Darin Simmons with teaching him technique.
But this kid has got the distance AND the hang time to excel in this league. And it doesn't hurt that he's a left-footed punter either because that opposite spin on the ball plays tricks with returners minds and reacts differently in the prevailing winds. That being said I also think some of these spec. team coaches meddle with these kids a little too much sometimes. I hope Simmons doesn't make this kid gun shy by making him afraid to use that big leg. Field position in the NFL is way more important than most people think.

knowing the bungles they will try to make make him kick with his right leg...using some idiot logic that there is so much unused poetential in that leg.
