Marvin sucks...
I am sitting here watching the Steeler-Bear game.
Steelers have a 4th and 1 at the goal line..play action, hit the TE for a touchdown.
Now, there is not a doubt in my mind that Marvin would have kicked the field goal.

Marvin is Marty---
Too scared to win a football game.
Playing scared is not a winning formula.
Almost blew a 10 point lead with less than 2 minutes to go in the game...after losing with 20 seconds left last week.

Anyway...
Coats needs to be released...he brings nothing positive to the team at all.
BLOCKING---can't do that at all
CATCHING---pathetic at best.
RUNNING WITH THE BALL--We got to see that hidden fuching talent today.
HANDS TEAM WITH GAME ON THE LINE---Never sees the ball bouncing at his feet..
What exactly is he good at?

Cosby---huge returns....great job.
Benson---great game...nice cut backs
Carson---solid game..2 bad throws, but solid game with 31 points, 4 touchdowns and key check offs and key completions when needed.
Chad---Solid game
ODOM---Great game...will be AFC defensive player of the week...5 sacks and was int eh face of Rogers all day.
Crocker---bad game in coverage
Geathers---was in there all day...
Rey ---2 forced fumbles, a sack and great coverage on the TE, had 1 bad coverage play..but he is going to be special.

I'll take the win, but it was ugly.
Beating a good team on the road is always hard to do..so give them props for atleast winning the game.

its either coats or leonard pope, murf...and pope doesn't know our plays and was cut by arizona...sadly, he is the best of our TE's...but when have any of our players at that position been elite? chase coffman obviously is still in the jerome simpson category...

both might turn out to be busts, at least the stealers 2nd round pick Limas Sweed is a bust as well...

crocker is playing out of position murf, what do you expect? he's still better than david jones on a good day...he's a hard hitting FS, never known for his coverage skills...I'd rather have him out there than geoff pope or jamal fletcher or any other garbage db we've had over the years...has anyone seen Tom Nelson anywhere? I have a feeling we will see him cut soon, esp. with crosby becoming a big threat on special teams...chalk it up as stupid hard knocks story-lines...

overall, I really like how Zimmer utilizes every player on our D...best coach we've had here since lebeau...

haha, just for a laugh...i loved the camera shot of troy p after the bears td (if anyone is watching the game)

I think the Bengals need to continue to be aggressive with the play-calling like they were this week...they were FAR too damn conservative against denver and it killed them in the end...cincy should be 2-0 right now and sitting pretty...

For the record, I think Crocker is solid, he just had a bad day...

I know they have nothing at TE--Kelly and Utecht going down hurt this team big time.
Kelly was never a threat, but he atleast could block.

To be fair, they had Crocker playing 3rd or nickel corner and he ain't. They need another corner badly.

Too many penalties and too many turnovers, but they still won the game on the road. Not bad. I think their best football is still
ahead of them.

Greenbay's D reminds me of the Bengals D circa 2005; No pass rush, bad against the run, but they get a lot of turnovers
for their offense. I don't know how far that will take them, but from watching the game, the Bengals could have won 31-10.

I've really been enjoying the Bengal's D so far. Hopefully, they bring it next week against the Steelers.

My first game with the Dish was last week..............Memorable =(

Defense and Benson won the game, I thought Palmer playrd liked **** but was the benefactor of a good defense that kept giving him the ball with good field position

Zimmer is the best D Coord we ever had, pretty sure he will be picked away for the next coaching vacancy

Too early to praise Tomlin/Arians playcalls in lieu of Lewis/Brat playcalls.

The Steelers threw for the endzone on a 3rd and 2 rather than trying for the first down. Not that that's a sin (Peyton Manning does that all the time), but in the rain and on a field where Jeff Reed had already missed a kick from even shorter. You would want to get closer to the endzone, yes?

I'm not comparing the two coaches...Tomlin and his staff are superior to Lewis and his staff. But second guessing individual play calls seems silly to me because in any given game it goes both ways. I'm sure the Packers are second guessing a lot of their strategy (as in how the hell do you let Antwan Odom look like Lawrence Taylor on Tecmo Superbowl without adjusting blocking schemes or shorter routes or something!?)

On Sunday September 20, 2009, the Bengals had better coaching than the Steelers in all facets other than defensively (LeBeau and Zimmer both called good games). Mike McCarthy and the Packers coaching on this day was awful!

Since I nag him constantly, I have to give Brat credit for the majority of his playcalling yesterday (he still did that ridiculous reverse call though and at a really dumb time). I think I had a crystallizing moment watching the game yesterday in which I realized that Brat is fine as long as the team "establishes the run" on the first drive. If it doesn't, he stubbornly keeps trying to make it work, refusing to pass to open up the run...but if the running game develops in the first couple of drives, he begins to mix up the playcalling and gets closer to the 2005 Brat.

I just wish that he had versatility to adapt when the running game isn't happening right away.

My problem with the coaching style of Marvin is that it reminds me of Marty Ball.
That style prevents you to win big games.
Marty would never try to win a game...and Marvin is the exact same.
I think the Brat problem is Marvin...Marvin is in his ear telling him to force the run or eat clock or whatever.

You have a big time offense, it got you to a division title in 05'...you have the weapons, use them.

"Beating a good team on the road is always hard to do..so give them props for atleast winning the game."

I'll give them credit for winning the game, but in a few weeks we might look at this as a victory over a weak opponent. Either the Bengals played a whale of a game between all of those mistakes, or Green Bay is headed toward another 6-10 season (or thereabouts).

Their offensive line and defensive secondary are both in trouble due to injuries. And we saw how they couldn't stop the run. Their own running game looks bad, too.

One more poor performance like that, and they'll sink like a stone in everyone's power rankings. I'd like to see the Packers bounce back to keep some sheen on this victory, but I don't think it's likely.

I actually think that the Packers are an NFC playoff team, so whether it was the Bungs playing great or the Pack playing awful (or a combination of both), a road win in the NFL is impressive.

I think that the Packers are a playoff team, and the Bengals are not (which is no shame...maybe the Bungs are an NFC playoff team, but it's ludicrous to imagine them finishing higher than third in the AFC North). But in the NFL, on any given Sunday...

Marty got fired and with a lot of the same talent in their prime the Chargers are pretenders. He is a great coach and you can argue that he never won the Super Bowl but he got you to the playoffs. Norv Turner should be the reason why the GM in San Diego gets fired. He could do without marty for the short term but the truth is marty will always be a better coach than the person they bring in to replace him.
