Has it finally happened?
Since 2005 everybody (including me) has expected Palmer to throw for 350+ with 2-3 tds every game. It hasn't happened nearly as much as it should but now it appears that the Bungles have finally evolved into the Steelers/Ravens...and it may be a good thing.
the game plan this week was for carson to wait patiently until the play clock wound down to the last second to snap the ball...doing this enabled carson to detect where the pressure was coming from. This was successful as the Bungs only had 1 delay of game penalty (i think) because of this.
this was a far cry from the days of the no huddle offense wasn't it? Maybe at this time w/the line Carson has in front of him and the power back (Benson)...the Bengals want to grind the clock out...which also keeps the Defense fresh....sounds kinda like the steelers/ Ravens doesn't it?
The defense is showing that they have some hitters and play aggresively...which is a far cry from the Wookies D' (Bresnahan) a few years ago. I was not upset at Crocker for his Pass interference penalties...they were both close calls and I would rather have a D that will aggresively go after the ball than have one that lets every receiver catch the ball without worrying about the consequences.
I liked Roy's hit on their TE late in the Game (Donald Lee?)
Having a punter that can change field position for you is also a really good thing...I was thinking that Tressel would have loved this kid (Huber)
I hear people complain that they are not throwing to Henry enough ...but I really think that Marvin finally has a D- Coordinator (Zimmer) and some Players in the front 7 that will play like his defenses in Pittsburgh and Baltimore play. So the team may be evolving on us as we speak.
the Bengals may turn into a team that runs the ball/ plays tough d and wins the field position battle (thanks to Huber and Cosby?)...this will keep the Bungles in most games. Scary thought huh?
Now if Brat will stop calling screen passes to Coates i will be happy...imagine if Cedric Benson or Bernard Scott would have caught them instead...

The problem with most fans, they see numbers..if a qb does not have 300+ yards and 4 touchdowns, then he is not that great.
I think Carson is still rusty a tad bit, but he played very well yesterday despite 2 picks.
Defense has played great 2 weeks in a row.
Plus they are one of the youngest teams in league...things should get even better on both sides of the ball.
Big Game this week..Steelers have not looked good in either game.
Got lucky against Titans and Bears played bad on offense and still won the game.
Without #43--they are not the same...still one of the best teams in the league..but there is something missing.

Agree with pretty much everything you say Murf. I ordered a shot of the kool aid yesterday. It was pretty good, but no where near enough to get me drunk.
Carson does have a lot of rust to dust off, and I was fully prepared for that to take 3 games.
Our D hits, is aggressive, and fairly tough on the run.
I like our chances against Pitts.

come on you homers!! (except murf) If GB would of scored on that last drive you would be doing none of this crazy talk! Sipping and taking shots of the kool aid?!?!

Maybe...but they should be 2-0 and have a solid shot vs the Steelers on sunday.
Many had them at 0-4, I had them at 4-0...never dreamed they could fall to the Broncos at home but whatever.
Bengals offense is only going to get better and they just ran up some nice numbers on a very good defense.
Steelers have an issue going on right now...they can't score for sh!t and the defense is not as good as it was last year.
#43 is the key to the machine and they are playing like it.
Plus, Carson moves the ball on Pittsburgh..Benson might not have a huge game, but if the line gives Carson time and Brat and Marvin don't screw it up, they should handle the Steelers at home.
Bears defense didn't look that great sunday either...
Get rid of the stupid holding calls and bad coverage...almost killed the win on sunday.

HAHAHA! I am enjoying our PLAYERS. And the effort they are putting it out on the field. I do not enjoy Mike Brown. I like maybe 3 of our coaches, Zimmer leading the pack. Love Zimmer. Did you see him about blow a gasket when Crocker got his 3rd flag. His fire has totally permeated into our D.
If GB would have scored there, it would have been TIED. Would not have been over, so that is really a mute point. Arguing and dreaming for something to happen that you dont know.
Now that we have players playing with passion and intensity, its almost like some you, and your hatred toward Mike Brown, has blinded you of enjoying the game of football and watching good players play hard, like we have going on now in.. yes, Cincinnati, with Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis, Bartowski or not. They are HITTING.
I fuching hate Mike Brown. And the Brown family starting from Mike down. But, when we have players, playing like they are, going into Green Bay, a place they never won, and get out of there with a win, after punishing, and I mean, punishing Aaron Rogers (dont forget all the hits that weren't sacks, Geathers crushed him on one, as well as Rey Rey), I'm going to enjoy it and yes, take a shot of kool-aid from time to time .
I would rather go through life finding enjoyment rather than finding misery. I would recommend the same. I mean, if we end up 6-10, what would be the big deal to most of you? It wouldn't surprise you would it? As it wouldn't me. It would be the same story. Crappy owner, hiring crappy personnel, coaching would-be good players, and ruining careers.
The difference this year, they are playing hard, and I'm enjoying it. We are no longer a doormat.
May as well enjoy the PLAYERS and their EFFORT, at least the majority of them, definitely not Pork Chop Coats. God, he sucks.

I will say that the defense is playing with some serious heart and "tude".
They pretty much only allowed 6 points to the Donkeys.
This last week, they allowed 10 points to the Packers (14 can be attributed to Carsons horrible passes).
I dare teams to come across the middle with Rey Rey, Roy Roy, and The Crock Pot regulating...
"Falc, just because I respond, please dont take it to mean that I give a sh!t about you. I respond because you are the type of person that needs to be told what a whack job you are or else you will go on thinking your behavior is normal and accepted. "

Calm down Tressel...I think you just plagerized the sweater vest with the miserable fan quote.
Your emotions are following the bungal bouncing ball ~ in just the other post after the Denver loss you are disgusted and never going back. What did Mike Brown do in that game to make you feel that way?
You are right that you can not blame the players. I feel sorry for them because you and I both know they cant and wont win in the Nati. MB will not allow that to happen as 8-8 is the perfect record. He is the GM of the team, he is the owner,,,his family runs the rest of the team.
You can cheer and boo and flip flop all you like ... my shoulder wont be there to cry on forever when the old man slugs you again.

You're right. I will not pay for a ticket this year again. That would be helping Mikey now wouldn't it. I dont see how I "flip floped". I said I wont pay for another ticket. That has nothing to do with what I said. As the famous phone prank by Mark Knoffler said... "please try and pay attention".
And I also said that if we go 6-10, that I, along with everyone on the site, would not be surprised, hence, would not be upset or need a shoulder to cry on.
Dont know where you got all what you said. Again, it goes along with my view that some of you wish bad fortune on this team due to Mike Brown. While I wish bad fortune on Mike Brown for putting an inferior product on the field for so many years, I definitely do not wish it on the players. That has always been a separate issue with me. I will bitch and moan about players who play bad, sure.
But I like the majority of our players we have assembled for this year. I like how the majority of our players are playing, and I will enjoy the times they play well, and curse the times they play bad. Kinda like a "enjoy it while it lasts" kinda thing.
If we go 6-10, ho hum..... won't surprise me. We have Mikey!!!

A rather electropositive fellow named Potassium met a sodium at the local screen name. "Do you know this Kitna person?" said Potassium to the sodium. "What on earth does he have to do with us?"
"No, I have no idea" said the sodium to Potassium. "You shouldn't worry about such things. People will think you're full of fertilizer."
"Well," said Potassium to the sodium. "No need to be salty. Don't you think the matter is worth pursuing?"
"Na," said the sodium.
"'K," said Potasium.

Did you know Potassium is the racist element? If you put three of them together you get KKK.

Good ones, T.
I'm curious about where we might find the "K to the Na" equation being used. A particular engineering or biological field? Actually, K+Na works better visually, and you can type it out directly.
Oh, those Kitna haters! Their wrath increases exponentially.

Have to share- My 6 year old was telling me they played football today at school and he was on the Cowboys and the other team was the Titans - I asked him how come their team wasnt the Bengals - and he said quote "Because then we would lose and be losers"
He did not get it from me because we dont even get any Bungle games down here. He does dislike the Steelers though.
Funny
