I'm writing this at halftime of the game with UC leading 30-10. And already I'm very impressed with Collaros. When he had some initial success after Pike went down I thought it was probably due to UC's offensive system. But now I'm convinced Collaros is the real deal. He's already made at least two accurate passes back across his body while rolling to the left. He's shown accuracy throwing the long ball and he can throw on the run and scramble out of the pocket when he needs to. He's shown poise in the pocket and he's making good decisions.
Mardy Gilyard reminds me of Desean Jackson. He just gets open. He gets separation and catches the football.
I still don't know if UC can compete with the elite teams because they look vulnerable on defense to the power running game. But if they can keep building up big early leads that will take teams out of their running games. With Iowa losing today they are sitting pretty for a vertical move in the BCS standings. GO CATS!

Im watching the game too. I turned to my brother at half and asked him how he can sit Collaras after seeing his preformance over the last couple of games. 333 yards in the first half...Amazing. Pike was just medically cleared to play and Kelly kind of dodged the question of "quarterback controversy" for this week beacause of it. But after this week, Pike will be 100% & he'll have to make a descision. I dont see Pike coming in as long as Collaras is playing this good.

I've heard UC homers on here claiming that UC would beat OSU this year. There is no chance that UC could score on OSU's defense even with Pryor's struggles. They would win by four TD's.

I agree. UC's offense is very good. I'm worried about their defense though. When you score 47 points and run up 700 yards of offenses, and you STILL almost lose there's something wrong. I hope they get it worked out.

I think they should run about 20 designed plays with Collaros in the game, but bring Pike back.
Collaros looked amazing, don't get me wrong. Against UCONN he looked better than Tebow: Just as effective running it only more accurate passing the ball.
But he hasn't faced any great defenses. Come time for the Pitt game, I think we might need Pike. He is pretty good too, even if Collaros' play makes it easy to forget that. Still agree with using Collaros with certain packages though, and will definitely be exciting when he takes over next year. Long as we keep Kelly I see no reason we don't dominate the Big East from here on. The Pitt game honest to God scares me though. UC has shown the one thing they cannot do is stop a power football team and Pitt is exactly that.
Really do think UC would beat OSU this year. They would definitely put up some points and their opportunistic defense would make some plays against Pryor.
Go UC!
