He's a great story, that's for sure. A real "franchise back". Marvin Lewis gets credit for giving him a chance, but it's pure luck that Benson is on the team at all. One of the many lucky factors that lead to this winning season, only the second such season and playoff appearance in 19 years.
Thank you, Cedric Benson.

The guy ran for what, 170 yards? How can you lose when your back runs for 170 yards? The answer we all have to face is that Carson Palmer looked worse than he's ever looked since becoming a Bengal. If there isn't anything physically wrong with him, then I think its safe to say he's on the way outa here. He looked horrible. And if the Bungs can't figure out what's wrong with him, they will continue to look horrible. There has been something mysteriously wrong with the offense all year that none of the reasons I've heard fully explain. Palmer got protection, and he's had it on and off this year. Look at our average points per game. Look at his QB rating this year. I don't think you can explain the incredible drop off in his performance just to TJ being gone. Today. he simply looked like the Rookie, not Sanchez. Whatever he once had, he doesn't have any more. The D held NY to 24 points somehow with I think 4 starters out. I can't fault the D. Its been the offense all year. And Palmer has simply not been able to hit receivers. We even got a couple of questionable calls to go our way to day for a change. Still, Palmer was looking like Doc Ellis on drugs. Sorry guys, I think Palmer is done. I would hope the Bungs would not waste a first round draft pick on another QB, but I think they do need to be thinking about one in round 3 or 4.... The Palmer age is over in Cincinnati unless somebody can come up with some reasonable explanation for a performance like that today.

If both Benson and Zimmer are not back next season, I will not follow this team. I guarantee you that.
Great job this year, Ced. Too bad you didn't fully realize what it means to be a CINCINNATI BUNGLE before you signed here.

"We even got a couple of questionable calls to go our way to day for a change."
I smelled homecooking. All day long too. Jets' shutdown corner had calls going against him all day long. Even when Bungles' WR's were running into him. Bungles receivers were pushing off and he was getting calls going against him.
What I find hilarious is the all the drive killing penalties the Bungles were getting. They were all legit too. Even Benson had his potential drive killer when he moved before the snap. All boneheads. Total Bungle-itis.
Carson Palmer looks like he's finally Bungle-ized.

Bump.
So long and farewell, Ced. And thanks again for 2009, the best Bungles season since 1990. What shall we do without our beloved bell-cow?
Anybody, was there ever another successful season where the team depended so much on their running back? Corey Dillon never played in a successful season for the Bungs. Icky Woods and James Brooks had each other as well as the rest of a diversified offense. Rudy Johnson played in a supporting role to the wide receivers. I say no.

Obviously what could we expect but your team is way below the cap, the guy is a masher, super low miles but plenty of NFL experience, coach on staff from the Raiders, he grew up 20 minutes from the stadium, went to Scott High School and played college ball 125 miles away.
Yea, it makes total sense that he didn't sign...

Did that article hint that Benson could find himself in Denver? That could be a pretty good running game to support Mannings arm.
Could be scary.
