Welcome to MikeBrownSucks.com, one of the "bowels of Bengaldom", as Geoff Hobson of the official team site once put it. (At least we think he was referring to us.) Now that the 2010 season has slipped well past the point of hilarity, we hope to gain a few more like-minded, disgruntled souls.

How did you like blowing a 21 point lead against a 1-8 team? And then losing by 18? I bet you took it harder than Mike Brown, who surely was more upset with the empty unpaid seats at PBS.

We hope you settle in and enjoy the good company. Here are some data to help you get your bearings.

Creating an account

You don't actually need to have a user account to post here, but it is preferred. To register, go ahead and click on the link near the upper left-hand corner of the 1st page and follow the prompts.

Two types of member status: "approved" and "non-approved"

Long-term "members" have been granted "approved" status. Their messages are posted automatically once they are submitted. Other folks wait for their messages to be approved by the moderators. A message form a non-approved member will not be visible until a moderator OK's it.

Why is that? It goes way back to before my time, to the early "wild west" days of MBS. Certain people got carried away with bad taste and trolling. Seems that whenever we try to go back to the un-moderated days, an old trollish friend or two will start to cause problems. Then back we go to square one.

The moderators and message approval

There are four moderators here: Bronco, Storm, BMN, and yours truly (psychostats). One of us should be online to approve a message shortly after it is submitted. Occasionally it might take longer if your timing is unlucky. Try to bear with us.

The MBS culture is pretty tolerant. So unless you're really going out of your way to be offensive, you shouldn't have any problems with your messages passing through.

Becoming an "Approved MikeBrownSucks.com Member"

As of now, there is no official process for gaining approved status. Typically you first become a frequent poster for a period of time. Let's say a few weeks. Then you ask for to receive this ... ahem ... "great honor". Simply ask in one of the threads once you think you've established a presence. We're working now to make the approval process go faster than in the past.
