Do you realize how many small to medium markets would kill to have an NFL franchise.

This market can survive in the NFL eyes without the Bengals.

#2 you have Cleveland
#3 You have Pittsburgh
#4 You have Titans
#5 you have the Bears.

They would not lose any TV market revenue and that is what drives the bus.

You'd be amazed at how unimportant it is to the average Joe to have a local NFL football. Its like most bad habits, give it up for 2 weeks and you're clean and free. If I lived in Cincinnati, I'd run for mayor and campaign on a promise to get rid of the Bengals. I'd win in a landslide.

Lots of transplants here that enjoy watching a variety of games on tv.

Used to get force fed StL Rams and Oakland Raiders and some SD Chargers but that has all gone away for the most part.

I wouldn't consider Chicago a small/medium market. He11, they have two MLB teams, NBA, NHL, MLS, WNBA, nasty hot dogs, girthey polish women, crooked politicians, and "Good Times" was set there! DYN-NO-MITE!!!!!

At a time of 9% unemployment when municipalities have already been struggling to balance their budgets and are now bracing for significant cuts from states and the fed, the San Antonio's and Charlotte's of the world are falling all over themselves to build the Brownhole a half billion dollar stadium.

It's not a question of nobody wants "thehole", nobody can afford him. The days of taxpayer funded stadiums are over. San Diego is a perfect example. When we got our last Super Bowl the NFL swooped in a year prior to the game and demanded the city/county add 10,000 more seats and make massive improvements ($15 million) to Jack Murphy Stadium or they would move the Super Bowl to the Rose Bowl and we would never get another Super Bowl. The City/County caved and now Jack Murphy Stadium (great sports writer, look him up) is now called Qualcomm because they tossed in about half of the money for naming rights to make it happen.(taxpayers paid the other half) Within six months, the Chargers ownership (Alex Spanos) started making threats to move back to LA if they didn't get a new taxpayer funded stadium. It went to a vote and failed. Then, the City/County gave the Spanos' a sweetheart deal in the form of guarenteed(sp) sellouts (again funded by the tax payers.) to stay, mind you,this was done during the Ryan Leaf, losing records era (bad times) and the Chargers needed a new stadium to "become competitive". As bad as the Chargers were at the time, the Spanos' and the NFL were still able to scare the City/County into keeping the Chargers in San Diego. Sound familiar???? Fifteen Years later, my Chargers are still playing at "Jack Murphy" stadium (and are competitive). They keep saying LA! LA! LA! Give us a new stadium or else!...LA doesn't want them enough to pay for them. Okay I'm staring to ramble..sorry. My point is, the Bengals CAN'T go anywhere else. mikey will have to continue to get his gold here. There will be no reworking of the POS contract the taxpayers are paying for. If he doesn't get his cash he will sue. Not gonna leave, just get some lawyers and sue. Gotta love that new scoreboard!
