Thank the heavens above.

Hope he has a great career in Oakland...

That's OK. The "local yocals" at least have Marvin to kick around for another year...

I know and hope for that, but you know how some of these Bucnutz are.
They would be screaming for Pryor the minute Dalton has a 2 game stretch of bad play.

I have never been impressed by Pryor as a qb, but then again I have not liked an Ohio State qb in a long time.
I can't remember the last time they produced a legit NFL prospect and before you guys start searching for a needle in a haystack, I fully understand that it is not their job to produce NFL qb's it is to win college games, I am just saying that Ohio State and elite NFL qb's don't match up.

no murf - us bucnuts would not be calling for Pryor to replace Dalton...it would be you and the homers.

We are glad this yahoo is leaving the state.

We may not have developed an All Pro QB - but we have had some decent QBs...Hoying,Krenzel Smith, Germain to name a few got drafted.

I would of liked to see the bungs selected Pryor to see if you would truly burn all your gear. I doubt you would have since you have stated that if Palmer doesnt come back you would stop supporting the bungs yet here you are....

If you're a QB running a 4.3

then you are destined to be a Raider. It was inevitable. And that will be it, ladies and gentlemen--I think that will be the highlight of his career. I'm not even sure that Pryor (at this point) would be considered their 3rd stringer. No way that he's better than Jason Campbell.

From what I've been hearing that they are going to try to convert Pryor into a receiver. Sheesh. Whatever. What a trainwreck.

Is Mike Tomczak their most successful NFLer ever or am I missing a name or two?

I think Germain was the last qb that I liked @ Ohio State.

Did you honestly just try to slide in Troy Smith?
Great college qb...end of story

Why is Pryor suspended by the commissioner of the NFL but guys like sleezy Pete Carrol can sign $35 million contracts to coach in Seattle and liar Jim Tressel can roam the sidelines at Cleveland's training camp? Talk about putting all the blame on the players. F'n ridiculous.

More and more I find myself enjoying Division III games at the local college where there are zero scholarships.

BTW---he was in Cincy the other day.
A reunion of former Buckeye coaches @ PBS

I do like the 5 game deal for Pryor ( I would have never allowed him to join the league this year)
The NFL can't allow a college player to do what he did, then walk into the NFL without some type of hurdle.
That starts to dig into the integrity of the league.
Players with issues can then just start jumping into the league after being tossed from school.

I also believe coaches should be out for a few years if guilty.

Murf, the NCAA is not part of the NFL. They don't even have the same playing rules. Furthermore, Pryor did not violate any laws from what I understand. He broke NCAA rules and I am pretty sure the new CBA does not make it permissible to punish someone because they broke NCAA rules.

The integrity of the league? Really? The same league that pretended concussions were no big deal? The same league that won't help older retired players with their medical bills? The same league that looked the other way for over a decade while players were using massive amounts of steroids? LMAO

Why shouldn't a player be able to jump into the league if they are able? Only in the US do we have such retarded rules about sports. It worked for Kobe, LeBron and Moses Malone.

Here is an example: In soccer in Ohio, if you play for your High School, your coach can not coach you in the winter, spring or summer. So our most experienced coaches are NOT allowed to coach the same kids year round. Also, if you have a great high school team, you are only allowed to have 5 players from that team on your indoor, spring or summer team and of course, your high school coach can't coach you. Basically, the OHSAA does everything in their power to prevent teams from getting better. They do the same thing with volleyball, baseball and basketball. Do you think they do this ridiculous $hit in ANY OTHER country?

The NFL is not and should not be responsible for the Health Care of the players, if the players believe they deserve some type of protection or some type of long term care after they retire, then why don't they use the UNION to set up some type of plan for themselves.
Sorry, but the owners should not be on the hook for that.

Basketball and Baseball are different animals.
Football is more difficult in terms of brain power and in another galaxy in terms of physical play.
I would say the NFL would be turned into thug heaven if you allowed morons like Pryor/Clarett to just walk away from school and declare themselves ready to play in the NFL.
No thank you...the integrity of the league has to be protected.
The players would never go for it either.
