So--when are we going to demand from the media to stop d-sucking off Michael Vick? I'm getting so MF'ing tired of it.
Murf--can you get on that?

murf, that's ridiculous.
The media is so far up Brady's ***, the man will never need a colonoscopy for the remainder of his days.
They love Drew Brees.
Aaron Rodgers gets nothing but gushing compliments.
I'm not saying any of these people don't deserve it but it's a bit ridiculous to act like the media is a 24/7 Vick/Newton show when that's clearly not the case.
And if the media is more preoccupied with Vick than Brady, etc. this week, it was because drama sells. And Vick returning to the Georgia Dome was drama.

I turned on sports center this morning....
Vick
Newton highlights...
NFL Network...
Newton talk
Mike and Mike in the morn...Newton
The Herd...Newton...
As for Brady, he deserves the props.
He is probably one of the greatest qb's to ever play.
Rogers and Brees are both amazing and when they are on tv, yes the media sucks them dry, but on a daily basis, it is Newton and Vick.
Rivers is the modern day Dan Marion...a ton of numbers
Who had the better game yesterday Andy Dalton or Cam Newton?
Who had the better game Rogers or Newton?
How about Brees vs Newton
How about Rivers vs Newton
How about Fitzy vs Newton.
The media is making this kid out to be hated by many and that is not fair to him.
He seems like a likable kid and is enjoying life right now.

Again, he was the #1 pick in the draft. They always get more attention. Palmer got more attention when he was drafted than Dalton does now. Because he was the #1 pick. Marvin did deflect quite a bit of that attention by having him sit on the bench in Year One. Had he not, I guarantee Palmer's progress would have been a huge story every week.
I'm not getting into the Philip Rivers argument with you again because we flogged that horse to death a few years ago.
And I think part of what bugs you about Newton & Vick is this....
Both are the athletic mold of QB (that you detest) but this makes them more fun to cover for the exact reason you wish they didn't get covered: QBs that play like these guys did in college don't win championships. And the press knows this. But the neverending question is always "can they evolve into the pro game?" Lots of the Vick coverage in the past year hasn't been "wow, Vick redefining the game," it's been "wow, Vick trying to become a pocket passer...can he do that and still take advantage of his athleticism?"
I've also noticed that Tony Romo gets a crapton of attention too (I've never been a big Romo fan but I have to give him props for yesterday). All week last week on M&M, PTI, etc., talking about Tony Romo, did he let his team down, did he cost them the game, etc. Because he's another divisive figure: there's no consensus on whether or not he's great, awful or in-between (plus he plays for Dallas...they always get a lot of attention).
It's the speculative game that fascinates people and leads to animated discussion. Talking about Brady, Rodgers, Brees, etc. is no fun because everyone agrees that they are awesome.

Second everything BMN said.
Also question why Murf feels he has to "hate" Vick and Newton for getting more media than they deserve. but it doesn't seem to bother him w other QBs.
Matt Ryan, for example, looks basically like an above average QB. I have yet to see him take a step toward the next level, yet he gets tons of praise by national pundits.
So is it time to "hate" Matt Ryan? I've never heard you hate on him Murf, why not?
Stafford gets a lot of media love, and he has yet to win a meaningful game. Should we hate him too and then blame the media?
I really don't think that Vick or Newton get the disproportionate amount of media attention you think they do. You don't seem to hate on other QBs who get media attention but have yet to win, so what gives?
Either you think the headlines every week should read, "Brady, Brees and Manning: still great QBs," every week (yawn!), OR, there is some other reason you resent those two specifically for the attention. I won't speculate on what that reasoning, conscious or subconscious, could be.
"We do do, and we do it at a very, very high level," Lewis said.

Fuch you Cinci and your attempt at trying to turn this into a race thing.
I believe the person that I have bashed more than anyone was God Boy Bobby Hill.
He is about as white as you can get.
I don't hear Matt Ryan on ESPN every five seconds.
I don't hear about the rest of the league of average to below average qb's
I think it is a shame that people would rather ignore the brilliance being displayed to pay more attention to "drama"
I watch the NFL b/s they are the best in the world at what they do and when they excel above the rest, it should be noted and talked about.
I understand that modern day journalism is nothing but a joke, but to say it is boring to talk about greatness is beyond silly.
