The scariest team in Collegiate Football is...

....The LSU Tigers. They have the hardest schedule (and thus will be prepared for the SEC Championship/National Championship) and they have the most depth.

When/if Jefferson comes back--this team will be wicked scary....

And you also have the two teams in front in them that, IMO, aren't worthy (Oklahoma and Alabama). Oklahoma blows in big games. It seems that Bob Stoopes can't get his kids up for the big one.

Alabama has reloaded--but IMO--they have lost too much in talent to go to the National Championship. With them and Alabama being in the same division in the SEC, Alabama will be the odd guy out.

IMO--the real National Championship (the SEC Conference Game) will be South Carolina vs. LSU.

Man, would I hate to coach in the SEC West and know I have to go up against Les Miles every year. That guy can coach/recruit his azz off and has ballz of steel. Michigan f*cked up by not pursuing him any harder than they did.

Thoughts?

IMO...

College football will never look the same again.
It is shameful to watch it.

Im looking to see who will beat Stanford...

Oregon? Maybe...

Hard to keep them out. I dont see Luck having a bad game against the Pac 12 defenses.

Yeah, LSU looks strong but no way they go undefeated. SEC is just a brutal conference. Alabama away will be a nasty game.

Long season still ahead.

Upset Special SDSU beats Michigan

Murf, would you be talking like this if the Domers are 3-0? Try to be honest.

Best team in college football is whoever ESPN shoves down your throat...

Domers, Cal and SC can beat Stanford.

from Urban Dictionary:

Stanford University

A prestigious private university where the ******* students can't decide whether they are better than everyone else because they're rich (which they are) or because they're smart (which they aren't). The parties suck and the girls are mediocre. The only bright side is that there are fewer hippies than at Berkeley.

Don't go to Stanford unless you hate having fun.

I will be honest...

If Notre Dame were sitting at 3-0, I would be saying that they deserved some love, but when you turn the ball over 10 times in 2 games and beat yourself in back to back weeks, then you are deserving of nothing right now.

They could have escaped the South Florida mess, but to collapsing against Michigan was too much.

If they run the table...BCS bowl?
Depends on how the rest of the season plays out.
A ton of games down the stretch will pain the picture.

The Irish still don't have a strong enough back end on defense.

Murf, I guess I should have asked a direct question. Would you be talking trash about college football being unwatchable if the Irish were 3-0? By your response I can tell you watch every minute of every game the Irish play. Nothing wrong with that is there?

I don't think you should worry. Notre Dame is at least watchable now. With a few recruits--which I think Brian Kelly CAN do--I think Notre Dame should get a few defenders that are able to stop South Florida or Michigan.

I also think with a few recruits--the media can drop the whole lame idea that kids won't go to academic schools. I disagree. I think if a school with a decent football program tied in with definite tradition places like Notre Dame will get all kinds of talent.

Notre Dame and Michigan are far from done.

Would I be talking like what?

If Notre Dame were sitting 3-0 would I be putting them up there with the rest of the elites?

Not yet.
They should be 3-0, they have not faced a "better" team.
I would have them in the top 10 maybe even the top five, but not with Wiskey and the Sooners.
Both teams look pretty good right now.

LSU/Bama are both up there.

It's as true today as it was five years ago. Notre Dame isn't a big time program, and hasn't been for quite a while.

Beating second tier teams like Michigan doesn't prove that you are big time. Losing to them proves you're not.

Maybe the Domers will become a player on the big stage sometime in the future. But it remains an ironic mystery why they continue to get so much favorable press (like this year's preseason ratings) this many years into their decline.

And it continues to be a comedic mystery why some of their rabid fans complain that they're picked on by the media.

They are just as BIG TIME as any other program right now.

They are in battles with the best programs for the best recruits in the country.

You always seem to rip Ohio State and Notre Dame, yet you never give an example as to what ELITE means in your mind.

Who is elite?

"Who is elite?"

The way I see it--the elite programs are 4:

1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma
4. Oregon

That's it, folks. If you wanna throw little Boise in there, go right ahead--but I don't. They still need to start playing big time programs to prove it. I don't blame their football squad. I blame the situation/school administrators for not thinking big.

BTW--another test for "my" boys LSU (no, not really--I hate them too)--WVU--and isn't that on the road? Jesus. Doesn't get any easier. And Morgantown is very underrated as a location.

And next week at Florida?!?!?!?!?! MF'er man. Just MF'er. LOL.

3rd and 1--in Morgantown. Detrimental time of the game--and Miles goes with the PA Deep Pass. LMAO.

Man--would I hate to go up against him. You never know. Fake FGs. Fake Punts. Whatever. Good God. Hard to plan against a crazy man.

That was an awesome play wasn't it. They were gaining yards at will with the run. Then decide to run a play action pass deep on 3rd and 1.

No one saw that coming.

How about Matieu #7 for LSU the dude is a beast.

No way LSU shouldn't be ranked number 1.

LSU VS Bama

should be called the National Title Game.

Oklahoma is pretty good but they are very beatable.

Boise gets no love from me.
Nice program, but you have to play someone other than a few high school teams to be talking about National Title.

Weird scenario, Murf

No score for this post
September 25 2011, 3:26 PM

"LSU VS Bama"

But weirdly enough--this COULD happen. One team could have one loss and not get into the SEC Championship--and they could both play each other as long as the other team has zero losses and wins the SEC Championship.

The one loss team would have to be ranked 2nd in the BCS Rankings at the end of the year--and back into the Championship.....but Oklahoma would have to have one loss......and actually, I believe Boise would have to lose.

Weird.

I love that we play the Huskers after they play Whisky.
