Inspired by a previous post by bengalbear and this Web gallery on The Enquirer's Web site today:

Which shows all the bungles players' run-ins with the law since 2000, I decided to actually look up how many bungle draft picks have been, well, bungled by the brownHole in the sense that the player later turned out to commit a criminal offense and thus distracted or wasn't there for the team.
These are only players the Bungles have drafted (so this doesn't count Ced or Pac-Man, et al) who got in trouble while they were on the team (no Darnay Scott either, though I think he became a dead-beat dad if I remember correctly), and I have excluded those who later had their charges dropped (Levi Jones, Neil Rackers, Akili Smith and Steve Foley). I also only mention each player only once, even if they committed multiple offenses (Chris Henry, AJ Nicholson).
How many do you think there were?
15! Yep, in just 11 years of drafting, the brownHole has unearthed 15 gems. Not only is that more than one per year, assuming a 7 round draft each year, that 15 out of 77 picks represents 19.5% of all their picks!!! Almost 20% criminal! Of course there are supplemental picks, and we do tend to get a lot of them since we have a cheap owner, so the true percentage would be somewhat lower, but it would clearly be above 15%
I don't know what the league average is, but if anyone cares to find out I'll bet a bundle that we are above it.
