I've said this before--but there are some QBs out there--that if you do not give them the hook, they will become successful QBs.

Yes, I'm referring to Alex Smith.

This guy can manage a game successfully---and Jim Harbaugh (although he's a b*tch--but high octane coach) is smart enough to know this.

With Dingleberry out of the picture, Smith isn't getting pulled after every interception. Smith is going to be okay from here on out.

I have the 49ers in the playoffs for the 1st time in a long time. They actually could be the 2nd seed. How about that?

I'm not saying that Smith isn't getting a whole lot of help. Frank Gore is a beast--and until the Bungles actually play somebody--the 49ers actually have the best defense in the NFL.

They are studly across the board on defense.

Today (and really for the year), Alex Smith was/is clutch. Who would have known?

you make a good point falc with how you deal w/ the trust & patience of a dealing with a rookie QB...

its a VERY tricky situation, esp. when you have talent at the position on the roster already...

did #9's act open a position to where Dalton could achieve greatness? opportunities due to upper-management, those that prior QB's did not have? being that there were rumors the bungs were going to go for a QB late in 2010 BEFORE Carson left? Dalton is the FIRST bung to start at QB day 1, year 1 and with a new o-coordinator, a young & motivated one (who played the position himself), its a situation very different to i'd bet most QB's were developed under this franchise in the past...

being that he was a second rounder as well, the manner about scouting him was different too...

perhaps, perhaps, PERHAPS...we are seeing bigger (still baby steps on a league-wide range) steps under this franchise be made...
