WTF is going on in Indianapolis?

It is Mike Brownsian economics:

- Get rid of guy who made franchise (save big $$$$)
- Sign "can't miss" rookie (new CBA makes it little $$)
- Cut everyone good (save huge $$$$$)
- Rookie isn't Jesus and actually does require other professional caliber teammates (but they can't blame you when he fails...everyone said he was can't miss and you signed him)
- Profit!

BTW - While I usually try not to get involved in the political threads either side, the "Taxpayers must buy us rubbers!!" may be in the Top 10 Dumbest posts to grace this board. And that my friends, is quite a high bar.

That Jim Irsay is such a great guy, thinking about his fans like that. A long slow slide into mediocrity would have been just terrible. Now they can skip straight to the total rebuilding phase. Shame on you, Fraidy, for being so hard on the Colt's considerate owner.

About the the rubbers post... maybe it should be seen as "performance art". It started a flurry of responses at a slow time for the forum; that kind of thread-starter achievement is right up there in Murf territory.

Seems to me that he is saying...we are going to suck for about 3 years before this kid can play, so why pay high priced players while he is learning.

If I were an NFL GM, I take a serious look at Griffin. Dude played at Baylor. Always turned something into nothing. Says all the right things.

Right now, I take the "gamble". Either way, the Colts are getting one hell of a player.
