US men's basketball had Argentina for breakfast lunch and dinner today - a 109-83 clinic and won in cruise control the last 5 min of the 4th qtr. Should handle a banged up Spain although I was impressed by Spain's victory over Russia today. Was impressed last week when Andy Murray beat Federer for the gold on his soil at Wimbledon in straight sets. Sweet victory there.

Don't watch or care about Olympic hoops, but I love the Olympics in general. Swimming, track and field, gymnastics, beach volleyball, etc. But its been a fun two weeks!

Living in Cincinnati, there is hardly anything to root for, Reds usually suck, and we all know the Bungs. Its nice to root for teams and/or individuals that are successful.

Im considering going to Sochi in 2014.

Its about 100 miles from where the better half's grandmother lives.
Its supposed to be pretty fun. Although her family says its not really that cold.

another good one Homey.... that was funny.....d!ck happy.gif

I have enjoyed every sport except mens basketball...lets go back to college kids.... if the NBA player still wants to represent their country - let them... we will play with college kids....one and doners.

GB has done a great job with the games. Love that Kate has been very visible and great ambassador. Plus she is hot.

Usain Bolt is just rediculous..... although I think he should try out for the Jamaican bobsled team.

Usain Bolt is the f*cking man!!!!!!

So is our pothead swimmer.

The guy I'm most impressed by is the platform diver. Came from out of nowhere. The Chinese were heavily favored. Both of them floundered at the "moment of triumph". Nice job, man.

I enjoyed these Olympics.

Oh yeah--one more thing--if the American Basketball Team (see LaDumDum) is going to talk sh*t about Jordan/Barkley/Malone/Bird/Magic/etc's Dream Team--then don't have any close f*cking calls. They were close with the Brazilians at halftime. The Dream Team in their prime would have blown that team out by 50. wink.gif

"If I had both teams--then I would chose ours over the Dream Team's any day and twice on Olympic Sunday's....."

WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!

Shutup.

I'll second that. After the wedding the immediate reaction was that Pippa was hotter...but that may have been because she was still single or maybe because she is apparently easier. But Kate is hot on all accounts for the same reason that a Hollywood star is...she is great to gawk at knowing that you have no chance ever at her.

Truth to be told, they hated the USSR. Most folks did, not surprisingly.

I have had a few interesting discussions with her father (parents live in Lithuania) about Communism, Democracy and Lithuania's halth care.

They all like the universal health care over there. It actually is one of the best in the world for developed nations. He thinks that the main problem to the US not accepting universal health care is that the best doctors and best hospitals are more concerned about making money than curing the sick. He wasnt making a moral judgment, just an observation.

FYI, Lithuania is extremely proud of being a democracy and the work ethic of folks over there reminds you of midwestern folks over here.

On a funnier note, I also asked him if he still owned a gun (used to be in Soviet Military).
He replied, "Why would I? I dont plan on killing anyone".

I havent told him his daughter now lives with a guy that owns 3 firearms. LOL

Hard fought victory by US basketball over Spain - a 6 point edge. Spain played a lot better than I thought they would - they had some size inside plus good guard play and they forced the US to shoot free throws at the end - not a team strength. It was close. I enjoyed volleyball (even though the men bombed in indoor and beach) track and field, swimming and tennis the most. All in all a very good Olympics esp for GB.

Whatever keeps them happy and keeps me healthy. I'm in. F*ck Universal Health Care. I want my doctor making more than what they make at McDonald's.

The Soviet Union was a f*cked up place. The sheep were happy though. Free housing and free health care for 90 years. YEA!!!!! Yet people kept disappearing all over the place and the government went broke in 1990. Funny how that goes.

Its just a cultural thing, Falcon.

Med school don't cost $300,000 over there, but then again, physicans arent making $200,000+ either.
I have a buddy in Med School in Poland right now. Went there for the price and the chance to be in Europe for 3 years.
I have another friend in Med School in the carribean. The chick gets ocean views for State School (US) prices.

Whatever.

But keep in mind--I like my pancreas/liver/kidneys where they're at and the elasticity remains the same. Sure, the alcohol probably doesn't help--but whatever they do to keep it working--COUNT ME IN.

If it takes them $500,000 or $5,000,000 for their salaries to be what it is to make them happy, then I ain't going to hate like your sorry party does.

This isn't the Soviet Union nor Canada nor Great Britian. I've heard the f*cking horror stories of their "medicine". That's why MF'ers fight to get in this country to get "it fixed". And I'll be damned if it's going to be that way here.

Over my f*cking--errrrrr with Socialized Medicine and what it would be--my dead body. You should feel the same way.

Bronco...
What country has a better HEALTH CARE system than the United States?
When did it become anyone's business how much a Doctor makes?
When did society start justifying salaries for private workers?
When did society gain the right to tell others that they make too much and should be ashamed and punished for it?
When did it become acceptable to not pay taxes and be very happy to receive government checks?

Missed the Closing Ceremonies but this was an enjoyable Olympic games. Great Britain were great hosts and admirably cheered on all athletes regardless of country!

Closing ceremony was a good show. They did a good job over there, joy to watch over the past two weeks.

Weird, its almost too much, I didn't get a chance to see half the stuff I wanted. I sometimes enjoy the Winter games more, despite the US usually lower medal count.

What are the laws there, can he own one? Also, what is the crime rate, he might have a different perspective if he was living in say east Walnut Hills.

Murf,

Remove panties from butt crack, please.

He never said the health care was better there than here (it isnt, but itsnt bad).
Hell, he doesnt even care.

He comes from a different culture. I know you have difficulty understanding that sometimes.
Over there, med school is cheaper and docs make less. Its not a better or worse scenario. Its just different.

But couldn't that mean that's why the standard of living is that much more worse than the US' is? That's what I hinted at before--and I thought that's what the main thing was figured in when figuring the standard of living of each country.

That's why the United States has such a SOL. Because of the head's above health care that we all receive.

Now Obamer wants to wreck it. Kiss my f*cking azz.

Bronco, if law school was cheaper and the lawyers didn't make that much money, would that be considered not better or worse, but different?
