The answer to the other 2 times

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Was_there_an_overtime_NFL_game_been_decided_with_a_safety#slide1

I'm disappointed. The other 2 decisions happened to 2 teams not named Bungles. LOL

I figured the other 2 would have been 1991 or later, Cincinnati Bungles. I know you're catching my drift. You know what? F*ck it. Forget about the link. Don't click on it. Here's the other 2:

1992: David Klungler drops back from his own 2 yard line against the Steelers at Riverfront Stadium. All 5 Defensive Rushers hit him in the end zone simultaneously on his 2nd step backwards. Klungler's facemask is broken on the hit. Safety. Game over. Steelers win 16-14.

2002: Gus Forgotte drops back to pass from his own 7 yard line. Screen pass was called to Brandon Bennett on their own goalline.....Forgotte is hit 3 yards deep in his own endzone by Junior Seau as he lobs the pass left-handed for some strange reason.....completed to.....Mike Goff....5 yards deep in the endzone.....tackled 4 yards deep....Safety. Penalty waved. Game over. Chargers win 30-28.

Har har har. Fiction is fun. Go ahead.....give it a shot.

"So he got fired? Big deal. It's happened to the best of us. So he got kicked out of his house by his 400 lb'ed wife?!?!? That's probably better for him anyways."-OldSchooler on ChrisMBHater's absence

Don't forget 8 batted/tipped balls by this tall 6'2" pocket QB.

Missouri attitude

No score for this post
November 10 2013, 1:23 PM

I just watched enough of the game to see Dalton throw a horrible pass to seal the loss.

I've had a "show me" attitude about the Bengals for the last several years. In other words, I am a major "fair weather fan" and I think Bengals fans deserve to be that way given the history under Mike Brown.

I see that Murf is still putting words in people's mouths (see the accusation toward someone else about wanting Johnson over Dalton above).

The Bengals won't go to a Super Bowl under Dalton. That's about as much as I say to co-workers who want to talk about that team.

If they even had a guy like Drew Brees, they would be a serious contender. This is the best Bengals team that I've seen in years, but they're not there yet. Not enough to waste much of my time on them, anyway.

Have fun with the back-and-forth, guys.

Well, that's hilarious. I see it's in OT now.

LMAO!

Other than the "seal the loss" part, I stick by everything else I wrote.

Lumina - I agree and I disagree

Agree that ML should know better that Dalton is horrible player and doesn't know how to QB sneak.

Disagree on play call - your QB should be able to get you 1 simple yard everytime ... Especially behind that line. ML should of brought JJ in for that one play.

On last 4th down I thought they should of brought Peko in and have Gio follow him up the gut.

that would have been a good play call on the last 4 th down but they couldn't make that work in Miami last week

All Dalton knows how to do is toss it up in the air and hope AJ catches it.

Sorry to say fellows but he is worse than Kitna.

Coulda shoulda

I suggested that the Bengals draft Tony Romo (late round) over 10 years ago...

http://www.network54.com/Forum/90650/thread/1050914950/Article-+%26quot%3BDrafting+101%26quot%3B

I also liked Terence Newman (meh) and Jeff Faine (double meh). Faine was gone by the 2nd round anyway. (Both of them had long careers. Newman is with us now, obviously.)

The Bengals had much worse QB's over the years, but the bottom line for me is that Dalton will not get them to a Super Bowl... ever. With the other talent on this team, I bet they'd have a shot at a title with Romo.

I hope the Bengals take some chances on QB's in future drafts. Look for diamonds in the rough.

I like Andy Dalton's intelligence, moxie and his red hair (personal bias for fellow gingers).

His passing ability just isn't good enough to get over the hump imo.
