KC looks like the bungs on offense. If I didn't know better I'd swear I was watching the bungs. Poor offense but some of that is due to Pitt. It's been awhile since KC has been in the playoffs and it shows.

Just now saw a helmet-to-helmet hit on a defenseless receiver. By Pittsburgh. Somehow i don't think that will be a big water cooler conversation in offices around the country tomorrow.

After all, it's the Stoolers, and it's "just football" when they do that.

Dalton is way better than Alex Smith.

More appropriately thread should read "Postseason Chiefs = Postseason Bengals"

Andy Reid = Marvin Lewis when it comes to sh*tting the playoff wetdream bed.

But at least Reid has playoff victories. He's the kind of coach that will get you there but can't get you to the Big Game.

Some articles from the Kansas City Star.

A lot of the same rhetoric that goes around in Bungleland...almost to the word if you replaced "Kansas City" with "Cincinnati," "Chiefs" with "Bengals," "Alex Smith" with "Andy Dalton," "Andy Reid" with "Marvin Lewis," and "Travis Kelce" with "Vontez Burfict." Kind of eerie.

Should Chiefs move on from Alex Smith:

Early in the 2015 season, when the Bungs played the Chiefs, I thought that Smith and Dalton were basically the same guy. Then Dalton went on to have an "MVP-type" year. He's had the advantage of playing with AJ Green from the start, a good O-line for most of his six seasons, and the same offensive system the entire time that fits his talents well. So he's better, maybe due to those circumstances.

Like you guys said, the details feel irrelevant when the Bungs struggle in prime time, mostly lose against the big boys, and can't win a single @#$#*& playoff game.

How about this?

Marvin = Andy Reid = Jim Caldwell
Andy Dalton = Alex Smith = Matthew Stafford

?????

"Marvin = Andy Reid = Jim Caldwell
Andy Dalton = Alex Smith = Matthew Stafford "

I think Marvin is the weakest link in that threesome and Dalton is the weakest link in the qb threesome. Neither Marvin and Dalton have 1 playoff win and by the looks of things both may leave the bungs without one.

Gun to head...

Coach I would go:

Reid/Marvin/Caldwell in that order. Reid is actually a very good game planner. Marvin is Marvin. Caldwell probably should not be employed in the NFL...I have no idea what he does.

QB I would go:

Stafford/Andy/Smith in that order. Stafford is probably in the top third of QBs if not not too far off; Andy is Andy; and Alex Smith has zero upside and zero arm strength.

Since 1991 both the Lions and Bengals are 0-for-the-playoffs.
The Chiefs actually managed to win a playoff game in that span.
But they're each around 8 games under .500 in the postseason since the 1990 season

The difficult thing for Chiefs fans has been that often they have been a 1 or 2 seed with a BYE and still lost, dating all the way back to their Marty Shottenheimer era. They have had a number of teams with AFC Championship dreams (some of those Marty era teams that had those great defenses, the Dick Vermeil/Priest Holmes era, and now the Andy Reid era. The Chiefs have been downright awful at Arrowhead in the playoffs.

The Bungs at least have never had that BYE during the MB era, with their best teams probably being 2005 (they had the misfortune of running into an 11-5 6 seed in the 3/6 match-up) and of course 2015 (where they had the misfortune of Burfict and ex/current con Pac-Man playing for their team).
