It is well known that the Bungs coaches help with drafting. Katie and gents, I give you WR coach James Urban.

Anybody got a rail handy to ride this guy outta town?

If you had to ask my honest opinion about that pick I'd say that I'm not a big fan of it. Should've drafted Cam Robinson, Derek Barnett or Jonathan Allen.

We'll be raging about the John Ross pick for years and years.

Lumina has already started one thread. There will be many more.

We're total idiots because apparently last season didn't make us realize that we need offensive linemen. Even Giggles himself said this offseason that offensive line is not a concern, I made a thread about it. Ugh this damn team.

You know what else is going to happen?

A great defensive player is going to fall the the Steelers.

Three QB's, three wide receivers, and two running backs gone already.

Where's Sam? Cleveland still doesn't have a quarterback. I bet that radio guy Tony Rizzo busted a gasket when they traded down with Houston so the Texans could draft Deshaun Watson.

This has mikey's fingerprints all over it. He likes the so called skilled positions like wr's and qb's - it goes way back to his wanting to draft the "best" player available rather than addressing the needs of the team.

Good pick imo, in the few games I saw the bengals last year it was evident that AJ was getting triple teamed, Brandon Lafell isn't the answer

There's your potential great defensive player falling to the steelers, Psycho. Kinda fitting that he's the brother of JJ Watt and he falls to Schittsburgh. Looks like you hit the nail on the head.

Steelers get the little brother of JJ Watt, linebacker TJ.

We'll see how that works out.

Last night, my Dad was talking about hearing the Bengals would draft a WR. I told him that was ridiculous because they needed the offensive line. Although, I did concede that's a total Bengals move. Sure enough. The commentators remarked they didn't think he would go that soon and has injury problems. Our first round picks are always out the first year with injury anyway, so we have to keep up that proud tradition. Also, if this injury situation is an ongoing problem, then I foresee him in and out of games, probably gone when we need him the most, and an ultimate bust.

Just for chitz n giggles I did a comparison of a few football pundits I follow to see how closely they came to gettings things right. My scoring method was to add a point for the difference (up or down) between their predicted draft position and the actual draft position. In other words if person A predicted player B would be drafted 4th overall but he was actually drafted 9th overall, person A gets saddled with 5 points. So the fewer points one gets the better he scores.

It’s obviously flawed because the trades had to have an impact on draft positions but I thought it would be an interesting exercise nonetheless. I only listed the first round picks but if a player fell into a later round I assigned his draft position by averaging the positions of the pundits who predicted more than just the first round, in this case Walter Football, DraftTek and Fox Sports. So here are the results:

1st Charley Casserly 263 pts.
2nd Pete Prisco 264 pts.
3rd Mike Mayock 292 pts.
4th Fox Sports 307 pts.
5th DraftTek 330 pts.
6th Daniel Jeremiah 332 pts.
7th Walter Football 397 pts.

If I can figure out how to post an image of my excel file on here I'll post the chart.
