What do you guys/gals know about this guy? At some point you think the Bungs would pick a guy from a winning franchise just to shake things up.

Just saw on Cincinnati.com that the Bungs are interviewing our own Jon Kitna for QB coach. I am sure this mediocre journeymen QB will be able to right the SS. Dalton and show Andy how to win in Cincinnati just like Kitna did when he went 8-8 in 2001. At least there with be consistency between the QB coach and the Defensive Coordinator since they are both former Lions. We know Mikey loves consistency.

Hey, if kINTna were in the league today he would probably push Andy. Andy is the today's NFL Jon kINTna, a weak armed, under throwing, and unable to hit the open guy, bird dogging the primary receiver turnover machine. The main difference with Andy is the league calls DPI alot closer now, so he has fewer picks. But they both had/have so little pocket awareness that they fumble on the regular.

When I read about Teryl Austin, I start to think, "a Hue Jackson for Defense." Strong personality. Liked by players. Leader of men. Outsmarts himself on occasion with
X's an O's. If he yaks incessantly with the media, we'll know that comparison is apt.

This could go either way. Looks like maybe Austin was a rising star whose progress was derailed a bit due to lack of talent with the Lions. If that's true, the Bungs got lucky. Or he might be a downgrade from Paul Guenther. Flip a coin.
