There is a fabulous place called Miracles Waiting at www.miracleswaiting.org that was started by both donor and recipient couples. There's a ton of info there on issues, general stuff, clinics that offer donor embryos as well as classified listings for folks looking for matches (both donors and recipients). There is also a board just for donor embryos at IvfConnections.

I'm doing a donor embryo cycle in October. I have a blog where I talk about it some. Feel free to visit me there or email me with more questions.

I'd also advise you to steer clear of Snowflakes. They are a strange organization with VERY low success rates and VERY high fees. Which they keep (none goes to the other couple).

Donor embryos is a wonderful option for many people. It is not expensive and has many benefits. For some women the chance to be pregnant is a great thing. For others controlling the prenatal envirnoment is key. Some couples
want to have a newborn and the domestic adoption process seems overwhelming to them.

In my case it's an amazing opportunity that we were given by another couple who dealt with infertility. We'll be able to have contact, if we are successful, because that's what the four of us have chosen. And our kids will be 'cousins'.

It may seem 'out there' but I'd caution folks to be careful how they talk about any method of family building. This is all so hard for all of us and I think judgements like that can be unintentionally hurtful, especially if it's about a choice that is so very personal. There are many ways to build families and it's great that we do have choices.

Best of luck to all.
