I just wanted to say that I know exactly where you coming from. About a month ago, DH and I were contacted about adopting a baby due at the end of April and although we had been considering adoption as an option, we had not yet done anything to pursue it. We were floored and although hesitant, have been running around like crazy to get all of the steps in order. Last week, we were invited to a birthday party for a little boy in our neighborhood (very close knit neigbhorhood and we are the only couple with no children). Usually this would have sent me off into an emotional whirlwind of fits-guilty for not wanting to go, going and then getting depressed, angry with DH for not understanding, etc....well, with the idea of this pending adoption, I have to say that this party was so much fun.
