Bigindiemusic.com’s Prestigious Album of the Year Award Goes To…

Bigindiemusic.com – the web’s most fabulous lighthouse in the sea of independent music – has named P.I.C.’s “Hiphoppunkfunkmamboska” the album of the year.

P.I.C. is a NYC-based band composed of former film students. With a sound that lives up to the fun of its name, the band delivers funky beats, humorous lyrics, infectious horn lines, and great bass and piano grooves.

“Hambo,” the third track on “Hiphoppunkfunkmamboska” earned the honor of Bigindiemusic.com’s Track of the Year. “The disk "Hiphoppunkfunkmamboska" caused a spontaneous dance party in my living room… of all the disks I've reviewed for Bigindiemusic.com, this one has gotten the most repeat listening,” said Bigindiemusic.com reviewer, qrss11z. “ My favorite track is "Hambo." This tune makes me want to dance like a freak out on the floor.”

The end result is a disc that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and invites the listener to do the same – refreshing in the current sea of sullen corporate rock and overly dramatic pop ballads.

The band’s website is a treat. PICscape.com is full of photos and band news that really gives you a chance to get to know the band.

Bigindiemusic.com started in 2001 and has quickly established itself as a helpful friend to independent bands and musicians, as well as the fans who appreciate music free of corporate constraints. The site provides reviews regardless of genre. It serves as a directory, a community, and an opportunity for musical artists to beef-up their resumes and get non-biased feedback.
