36" hard plastic Universal Statuary Clown 1981

Hello! I am looking for information regarding a clown that we have just "inherited" He is a little over 36" tall, is made of a hard molded plastic, has a suit that's half orange, half green with darker green polka dots, brown hair, a white face, and a red ball nose. One white gloved hand is bent behind his back and the other is at his front. He has big black shoes on also. Stamped on the back bottom of the statue is Universal Statuary Corp. Chicago with the date of 1981. We are just wondering what he may have been used for (we think maybe as a display of some kind) and what the value might be. He is in mint condition with no faded coloring or any scratches at all. Any help is appreciated!
