collectable hobo

by (no login)

I am looking for the collectable hobo's that play instruments like the vilin and the harp and guitar. They move and sound like the real instrument when turned on. I believe it is a tape rather than an actual music box type. A friend had a whole collection of these back in the early 90's so they are not old. They were about 12" tall and made of porcellin. Please email me if anyone knows what I am referring too and knows where I might find one..thank you

HUGE CLOWN COLLECTION FOR SALE!

by (no login)

I have a huge 100+ piece collection for sale. This collection includes many Brinns...indivdual and Calendar Collections, Heritage, and misc. Most of them are between 16" and 18" tall and are porcelain faced. I have hobo's, masks, and rare finds. A majority of them are musical. It also includes a variety of very unique and precious clowns. I collected them when I was young and now have no place for them. Most have boxes and have been stored for many years. They are in great shape and ready for someone to add them to their collections. I have no idea what this would be worth...but am willing to sell for a resonable offer. Please e-mail me and ask questions. I do not have them inventoried or know which ones specifically that I have. If you are interested in the collection...please let me know.

Emmitt Kelly Jr. standup

by (no login)

I have in my collection a full size cardboard standup of Emmitt Kelly Jr. with a small electric motor in the back that moves his arm to sweep with a broom. This was a promotion piece in the 70's for a organ company. I got it through a organ dealer going out of business then. I wonder if it has any value. I also may consider selling it as I am getting up in the years and maybe someone else can enjoy it. hobyt@juno.com

Have a unique pair of clowns

by (no login)

I have two halves of a hard plastic clown face. Approx. 11 1/4" tall 10" wide. One looks like Bozo the other like Oliver from Bozo the Clown show.
Each side is hollow, but you put them back to back and everything lines up. It almost looks like a top for a Helium tank, but has no hole in the lips, just a side by the ear that would fit a light bulb or something. I did take a photo of it if you need a picture. Any idea what it might be from?

seeking info about brinn's limited edition clown

by (no login)

Came across a Brinn's musical collectible clown at a local thrift shop - clown is 33 inchs tall, a black and gold harlequin clown. It is labeled as a limited edition 792/1200. It plays the song "Be A Clown". No box or certificate but does have two original labels tied to one arm.

It will be a birthday gift for my sister and I would like to learn more about it.

Thanks!

Universal Statuary Corp. Chicago 1966, #349 & #350

by Mr. Insight (no login)

These clowns are only valuable if both are owned. These clowns were in commemoration of the not so famous Dr.Octogan & Mr. Kool Keith. The pair of nobody's were struggling pioneers in their fields of profession and when tough times hit they resorted to working in the circus to suppliment their incomes. This duo performed and mastered their tomfoolery act. These were local entertainers that never made it past an unkown circus act. Mr. Daniel Nakamura was an out of towner who came across their act and decided that, their act was a very good one and that they should be exposed to the world. Long story short, Mr Nakamura contracted Dr.Octogan & Mr. Kool Keith to perform in japan were this type of act was not seen. Their act become famous thereafter in small towns and the rest was history. The two peformers brook up after 6 years due to their vices. In 1966, their final act was viewed in Rogers, Arkansas. A salesman from the Universal Statuary Corporation, happen to have whitnessed their final act and decided to commenmerate their short lived success. A contract was signed and they were immortalized ever since. Now this story is strictly for entertainment purposes and never really happened, but I wish it did so that these clowns could be worth something if they are already not.

Susan, did you ever receive a response to your message? I also have 2 similar clowns, dressed in orange and yellow, standing on red and white circus drums. I had never considered that they might have any value other than sentimental, until I noticed they were signed and numbered. I'm also interested in finding someone who might know how to determine the value.

Looking for Clown History

by (no login)

I am looking for 'good' books on Clown History.

This is a present for my grandfather who is a clown himself.

I was hoping to find something that has a lot of old pictures of clowns. Everything I have found up to now has been brief history lessons.

If you know of any such books, please let me know.
Feel free to contact me via e-mail.

hobo clown

by (no login)

I am trying to find a piece by Ron Lee with no luck at all. I don't know the number but it is signed by Ron Lee and is dated 1987. The Hobo is sleeping on a park bench and is wearing a red bow tie with white polka dots.

The base is a brown marble I think.

I appreciate all your help and any information.

Thanks,
Nancy Kunselman

I have Hobi on Park Bench

by (no login)

I'm not sure if you're still looking for Hobi on Park Bench, but I have him. I'm looking to sell some of my Ron Lee clowns as I'm moving across the country and am limiting myself as to which ones in the collection I can take. If you are interested, let me know and we can work something out. I've never done this on-line, but will do whatever need be to ensure integrity of what you are buying etc. (can take a picture). It's in perfect condition, not sure what else you'd like to know.

Ron Lee Clown

by (no login)

I am looking for a specific clown. Don't know name or number but he was sitting on the edge of the onyx with the best smile on his face. Gave it to my dad for his birthday one year and he loved it and even named it. I got it when he died but lost everything in a fire a few years later. Would LOVE to know the name of this clown and if there is a chance to find it again.

Thank you so much for your time.
