Heartbroken Harry

by Teresa (no login)

Maureen,
Heartbroken Harry was issued in 1987. The edition size was 8500. The one I have is in mint condition, signed and dated 1985, and is #1085/8500. The edition sold out.
I bought the Ron Lee 2008 Price Guide to determine the value of my clowns. It is available through Ron Lee's website for about $29.00. The listed market value of Heartbroken Harry is 295.00.

Ceramic Clown Money Box

by (no login)

Hello, I have a ceramic clown money box I found in a skip/dumpster. I have photos of him but can't get them to appear on here for some reason.

I'd like to know if he is a fairing, if he has some other kind of history or if he is relatively new and just looks old, so I'd be glad of any comments you may be able to offer, and I'd be happy to email you a photo if this would help.

In the meantime, I can tell you he is 7.5 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide at the base, and is standing upright. He is fat, brightly painted and has quite a high glaze, although he is grimy from having been outside. He has a red pork-pie hat, a white face with black crosses for eyes, a red nose and red smiley mouth ringed in black. He is wearing a green kerchief with red spots, an orange jacket, blue trousers with pink spots and black shoes. He is carrying a pink rolled-up umbrella in his right hand, and something else in his left hand - perhaps a mallet? He has a slot for coins in his back, and a hole for a rubber stopper in the base.

I look forward to learning something about him and thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give. With best wishes

Isobel

Life-Size Clowns

by (no login)

Hi Paula, I just saw your note on my post, though addressed to one of my commenters. That's ok though.
I sell life-size dolls including clowns. My largest one was Candi Clown who was 7'2" and she went to Tombstone AZ at a place called the 13th floor. She is on display 365/7/24.
I also have a 4'2" clown named Dotz A. Clown who is currently available.
I will be making more dolls of various styles and sizes. I currently have a beautiful female Vampiress, a Bride of Frankenstein and a 5'10 Scarecrow named Suzannah whi is my favorite.
I sell these at my store on eBay. I just sold one named Iza It, M.D. and she went to the UK.
I hope you'll stop by and check them out! Feel free to email me at rockonbyaudi@softcom.net or visit my eBay store, Rock On by Audi. Thanks and best wishes in your doll collecting pursuits. Regards, Audi

The landlady of our local pub in Redhill, Surrey, UK, has amassed a huge collection (4000+) of clowns over 15 years. They comprise antique and modern, cloth, metal, porcelain, plastic, you name it. There are tiny clowns, huge clowns, flying clowns, swimming clowns, clown clocks etc. etc. The list is endless.
As she is now retiring she needs to dispose of the whole collection in one lot. The collection can be viewed at any time by contacting me in the first instance.

Windy Corp Clown Head

by (no login)

I have a Windy Corp Clown head that came from a Chuck E. Cheese Resturant that was remodeling. Also have a Chuck E.Cheese shirt and yellow socks. The coloring is still very good on the head, no fading, scratches, etc. No holes in the back of the head, so apparently it was not used on an oxygen tank for inflating balloons.
When I tried to research Windy Balloon Corp last Oct. I found an address of Gardena, CA. When I looked the address up in the telephone directory it indicated that Quality Pets was at that location at that time.
What have you been able to find out?
Is there a market for this type of thing?

Thanks for any information that you can provide.

He also as a big pink floppy bow under his chin.Only hisd eyes have make up on them and he has a clasic red clown nose. He has brown shoes with his toes showing on his exposed foot. It is marked "Veronese 1998" and I haven't been able to find anything about it. I mwould love some information on who makes it and what it's approximate value is. Any help os very much appreciated.

Where can you sell a clown collection?

by (no login)

My Uncle had given us a clown collection of about 40 years. Some of them were destroyed in the Oakland earthquake. There are many figurines and pictures. My husband was brain damaged two years ago in an automobile accident and we have had to move in with family and are downsizing. Is there anywhere to sell these clowns? We would like to get them to someone who could enjoy them, etc.

Who was or is Doerstein?

by Marlene (no login)

I have a print painted by "doerstein" of what appear to be clown faces of Emmett Kelly--5 in all.

It has a wooden frame and is about 24" x 18". There is brown paper on the back.

Is this rare, common, of what value?

Thanks!
Marlene

I own a number of wind up musical clowns in their original boxes. They are at least 25 years old.
They have "Treasure Dolls" and "Kelvin" written on the box. The model number is TD-6020.
Could anyone tell me what they are worth? and where can I get more information about them.
Thanks.

I have 2 clown items I am trying to determine the value of

by (no login)

One is a Ron Lee with Onxy base and gold. He has a suitcase that has fallen open and he is hitch hiking. I have seen many from this collection, but I have never found this one. It's really a beautiful piece!

The second is a print by Ozz Franca titled "Lost and Found". This is apparently not the type of painting that this artist was known for, which, to me, makes it more interesting. Anyway, it is handsigned and numbered 341/350. It is 16X20, beautifully matted and framed.

I'd be happy to email photos if you would like. I just couldn't figure out how to post them here.

Thanks
Carmen
