Play By Play Toys and Novelties

by (no login)

I have this toy clown that i was told is one of two and am looking for a way to find out how much it is worth and so far i am very unsuccessful, mainly due to the part that i have no idea on how to find this information out. I stumbled upon your website and hoped that someone here could help. If so please email me. The clown is a play by play brand toy that has its face printed on upside down. I was told that this is very rare by a 3rd generation of Emmit Kelly himself. The guy that told me this, his mother has emmit kelly's nose stored at home, so i feel his is trustworthy. Please someone contact me ASAP.

Any information would be very helpfull please help!!!

Thanks

Dale

Have 8-12 Clowns by Judi

by (no login)

Hi, My mother collected Judi's Original Pastime clowns...Knew her personally and was always one of the first to receive the newest productions. She purchased them as "an investment".
My mother past away last June and my father is getting ready to move and has come across the boxes (VERY WELL PROTECTED). WOuld like to find a good home for the collection. DOn't know which ones she has off of the top of my head...golfer, banker, teacher, riding in balloon, fisherman, dentist, or doctor, and some others. I will ask my father to get pictures of them so I may be able to post them online...and send them to you.
If you are interested, please let me know.
Thanks so much.

Looking for a stuffed clown in a red & white suit

by (no login)

I am looking for a stuffed clown doll, 18-inch, originally bought in the early 70's. He had a red and white (striped?) suit and hat and had large blue diamond-shapes on his eyes and small red triangles on his cheeks. He had a rubber face. I do not know the manufacturer. Anybody got a clue? Thanks, Nick

Clown purchased on Ebay - Need answers

by (no login)

I purchased a clown on Ebay for a penny. It is a cute little clown. When I looked on the bottom I was shocked. It says chemicals in the item cause cancer and birth defects. I hate to throw it away. Anyone have any answers??? It is from California originally.

Just don't eat it. The clown is probably made in China. The paint may contain lead. The warning is for children, as in the clown is not a toy.

About a clown

by (no login)

Hello,
I can't seem to find any information on the internet about a clown that someone has given me. I was told that it's a crystal clown, and it has a name etched on it's left foot, which I cannot read. he has an umbrella and a frown on his face. If anyone might have any information about this, please e-mail me at jerrett_and_melissa4eva@yahoo.com I can send pictures if it might help identify this particular clown, so I might be able to see what it's worth!

Thank you for your time in reading this, I just hope that someone might be able to help.

Sincerely,
Jerrett M.

RE Emmett Kelly and EKJ lists

by (no login)

I don't know about an Emmett Kelly list but I got what I think is a complete list of EKJ by Flambro imports. Check this website: http://www.collectorsinfo.com/

It will cost you about $20 dollars to access their online price guides, but they cover a wide variety of collectibles. I purchased a separate EKJ price guide for $10.

I am trying to sell my Mother-in-laws EKJ collection, so if you know anyone that is in the market please let me know. A sampling of available figurines is Spirit of Christmas 1, Piano Player (large), Big Business (large), etc.

Good luck.

can you tell me about my clown doll?

by (no login)

This clown was handed down to my mother and then me. He is supposed to be close to 100 years old. I think he is paper mache. He is wearing original clothes, the blue is quite faded on the front and darker on the back, the design has little red monkeys playing cymbals and accordians. I really dont know anything about him. One woman who contacted me said something about him looking italian and used the word columbine but i find nothing on the internet about him. I find no markings on him, under his hat, back of the head, neck etc. I would appreciate any information. I dont think i can upload a picture from photobucket, dont know how but if you would email me at ollieandquincysmom@yahoo.com I could send pictures. Thank you in advance, kayona

Jim Howell sign and numbered prints

by (no login)

I have 7 signed and numbered prints by the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey's circus artist- purchased in the late 60's in New Orleans, LA. These are faces of real people with beautiful faces.. painted white and dressed in Clown attire. .
Some were painted in sets: such as
1-2. "Desire' and the Dreamer"
3-4."Simone and Nicole"
Otheres:
5. "The Queen of Hearts"
6. "The Mime" three faces of Marcel Marceaux -
larger than the others .
7. I found at a flea market not sure of it's name.
"The Mime" I would sell for $895 All others for $350
All are framed very nicely and in excellent condition.

can you tell me about my clown doll?

by (no login)

Hi, i have a very old clown doll, i think about 100 years, i'm not sure what he is made of, not bisque, porcelain, china, not composition..........He is in his original clothes, a blue jumpsuit type with red monkeys playing the cymbals and accordians in the design, his orignal hat and socks. I would love to know more about him, he belonged to my mother, passed down to her i believe and then me. Would love to know what hes made of, how old, who made him etc. if anyone knows. I have some other dolls i would love to know about and will include a picture, they arent clowns though. I tried to upload pictures from photobucket but dont know if i did it right, i dont think i did, if there are no images and you would like to see the pictures of the clown etc. Email me at oskismom@hotmail.com Thank you in advance

Leonardo Circus Clowns

by (no login)

WHAT CAN CLOWN EXPERTS TELL ME ABOUT LEONARDO CLOWNS? I MISTAKENLY PURCHASED A SET FROM EBAY WITH 22 OF THESE CLOWNS. I HAVE NOT SEEN THEM YET, THEY ARE COMING VIA MAIL FROM GREAT BRITIAN, THAT WAS FIRST MISTAKE I MADE DID NOT PAY ATTENTION TO WHERE THEY WERE COMING FROM, PAID MORE FOR SHIPPING THEN THE ITEMS. SO SINCE I WILL SOON HAVE THESE CLOWNS I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHATEVER I CAN ABOUT THEM, CREATOR OF THE CLOWN, COMPANY THAT MAKES THEM, COSTS WHEN NEW, ETC. ANYTHING WOULD BE THE GREATEST OF HELP.

very nice collection

by (no login)

You got a great buy. Normal retail is $5-$20 for small ones.
I've seen large ones $60-$100.

Even if you paid $100 shipping you'd be well under value.

help

by (no login)

Hi my name is Shawn and I have a bunch of clowns that are very old and I am looking to find the price on some of them. I have a clown from the 1930's maybe earlier I don't know. It's made out of paper mache and is in really good condition. Except for one of the stirofoam balls is missing. I think that it might affect the value but it should still be worth some thing. As soon as I get a digital camera I will be able to post some pics of my clowns and if you know a place were I can go and post the pics at I would greatly appreciate it and any other knowledge that you have on collectible clowns.
Thank You,
Shawn

vintage rodeo sad face clown doll

by (no login)

I just purchased an adorable, but older sad face rodeo clown doll for my sister. I was curious if anyone knew anything about older rodeo clowns. He has a porcelain face, hands and shoes, is dressed in a gunney sack vest over his clothes and comes with a broom. Does anyone have any clue about a doll like this?
