I Love DarkWing Duck!

by (Login DarkWingDuckXMorg379)

I Loved this cartoon DarkWing Duck as a kid and still do as an adult it was one of Disney's Great cartoons after Tale Spin,an before Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers,Ducktales,Mighty Ducks, ,LAS,TENS, in my Heart,Spirit. it aired in Fall September 1991.

The episodes to me although funny more than not, also at times dealt with strong stories, and indepth scripts, screen plays, like the episodes Duck Blind shows DarkWing Duck suffer and face A time of Blindness do to mega volt causing it by intence
razes of light.

DarkWing has to get over his pity and stuggles with
blindness,to learn to accept his disability an then be taught to use it to overcome things an his fears of self worthlessness,in the end DarkWing Duck does get his sight back.

And Life,The Nega Verse and Everything deals with A darker sorta step through the mirrior world were everything is not the same as it was in DarkWing Duck's world including the fearsome 5 our good? and help DarkWing duck to defeat Nega Duck an find away back to his own Time and Reality.

Steelmaster has DarkWing Duck learning how to Live with using, getting around in A wheel Chair,an at the same time having to settle A score with A old Arch Enemy Tarus, now a half human robot.

I also love the Deepness,Moving Dead Duck episode were it handles what it would be like if DarkWing Duck was dead, after he got in A motor cycle Accident, because he didn't take his daughters heeds to wear one while driving around Saint Conard, it is A very touching episode that shows and reveals the loss of DarkWing Duck in dream sequences, that makes me wish that More Episodes were a little more deeper and indepth with story, script, screen play in DarkWing Duck.

The Last one that I will talk about, that really was something amazing was the Episode Clash Reunion, were both DarkWing Duck and Mega Volt attend the same Class Reunion, and we get some real Emotional insight on the real way DarkWing Duck feels, attains about things, when he's unmasked by Mega Volt.

An it displays and actions out DarkWing Duck who to everyone seem to take anything,is now sinking away into A corner affraid of the world an feeling alone an rejected by people that know now who is is,atleast until the end.

DarkWing Duck was a cartoon I could watch an Love because it was Comdey/Drama all in one,it could be Funny and even Serious at certain times and places through out the whole series.

I could talk about so much more on this, sorry for going on about to long, didn't mean to,I just love talking about it so much.

so what do you think of DarkWing Duck, any fans, none fans of the terror that flaps in the night DarkWing Duck on this board, if so I would love here from you.

Brotherly Love,understanding,peace DarkWing DuckXMorgana 379

Darkwing Duck on DVD

by (no login)

I signed up a while ago on Disney's website to be notified of when Darkwing is coming to DVD. Well yesterday I went a step farther and emailed them directly asking when/if hey plan to release the whole series on DVD. Here's the response I got:
<quote>
Thank you for your e-mail regarding the DARKWING DUCK SERIES. We appreciate your interest.

The DARKWING DUCK SERIES has not been released on video or DVD, and we do not have any information regarding an expected release for this title. We will let our Marketing Department know of your interest.

Please visit our website at www.disneyvideos.com for further details.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Regards,

WDHE Consumer Relations
US and Canada
</quote>

Now I know people in the past have done up petitions but perhaps if we all email Disney directly and let them know it's something we'd be interested in, they may listen. Go to this site and click on Questions at the bottom:
http://disneyvideos.disney.go.com/moviefinder/products/0149403.html

Maybe this'll help out a bit.

no it won't make a different.

by (no login)

it won't make a different because Darkwing Duck on dvd isn't any good because there's no commentaries, deleted scenes or behind the scences look of the show.
so this dvd its a thumbs down.

Darkwing Theme Sheet music

by (no login)

I was just wondering if anyone out there had guitar tab for Darkwing's theme? Or more specifically, the sheet music for the end theme. I just recently bought a saxophone and thought that it would be cool to learn how to play the Darkwing theme song (like the ending theme song with a sax). Thanks in advance for any help!

Occasional conciousness

by (no login)

I was once A DW RPer... Occasionally, I check the web to check up on my old friends from various RPs... Sort of try to poke the fandom again. But honestly? I don't think I've been involved with the Darkwing Duck community for at least 5 years. 13 then, 18 now. Sad isn't it? Not that I didn't like it there, it just sort of died around me, to the point that it seems to nolonger exist. Maybe someday disney will make a made for TV movie and wake everybody up again, but I think for the most part, DW seems pretty through.

Man, I can't BELIEVE how long it's been since I last checked in on this forum. Anyway, I'm not going to go into the problems I had actually posting here because they're too bizarre to explain. The important thing is, they've cleared up. Anyway, at any rate, I DO hope that somebody gets the idea to think of some way to re-introduce DW to the general public. He deserves that much respect, anyway.

I might not be posting here anymore. Why? Because I don't really have a crush on Darkwing anymore. I mean, yeah, he's still cool, but I just don't really see the need to post here anymore. I might post once in a great while, but that's it. So, bye! And besides, I have other forums that I go to, which, I think, are better than this one and more active, so...plus I don't really have the time, so anyways, bye!

Gosalyn's future

by (no login)

Well, we've all read the fanfics of Gos and Honk as teenagers and adults. And I was wondering how you guys see them.

This is going to sound a little dumb, or even silly, but I picture Gosalyn joining the Army. Or rather, she and Honker entering East Point in the state of New Duck. Gosalyn's got the physical ability and stamina to go through every single confidence course the military can throw at her. And what Herbert Muddlefoot, Jr. lacks in physical ability he more than makes up for in brainpower. And right after graduating from East Point, they move back to St. Canard. Outside St. Canard is a thick forest, as seen in Dances with Bigfoot. A perfect place to have a military training camp. I figure the two of them would be promoted through the ranks pretty fast, so I picture Gosalyn as a one-star general while still being pretty young. (And I bet when she retires, she'll have four more stars on her shoulder) Honker will probably be a colonel, and the Army's foremost military strategist. (Though brains are valued in the military, overall brawn is still the key factor in promotions). We see all the fun Gos has bossing Honker around, so imagine how much fun she'd have ordering a whole battalion to do her bidding.

I thought this idea was so funny, I considered drawing it. And being the environmentalist I am, I thought I might save paper by using only half the paper, using the other side to draw Gosalyn's Nega-double. Her occupation? President of a Peace organization. I'll title it "The Warmaker and the Peacemaker."

Drake would object letting his little girl join the Army, but you know Gosalyn. When she gets an idea, pity the unfortunate soul who tries to keep her down. Honker's parents will also probably wonder why their genius son is rejecting Narvard and Hale.

Since the DT/DW world is different from ours, I think it's safe to assume that their world, while still not perfect, is a little more peaceful than ours. Perhaps General Mallard and Colonel Muddlefoot wouldn't devote their entire lives to the military life. Maybe they will become heroes. Honker said he didn't like being a sidekick in "The Quiverwing Quack." He, though meek, is somewhat capable of asserting his interests but needs a good boost to actually stand up to someone like Gosalyn. Perhaps a few years as a cadet will give him the boost in self-esteem he needs. Anyway, I wouldn't want to jeopardize my favorite nine year old duck's happiness, so if I ever write Gos and Honk in the superhero business, I'd make them partners, not hero and sidekick.

That's just my opinion. Feel free to disagree. :)

I had the same problem as you when looking for them on Kazza or Imesh. I managed to find the whole set on DVD for about $30 or so on Ebay but I have seen others sell them for like $100. Granted these aren't 'Official' Disney DVD's but until they ever release Darkwing on DVD, I guess it'll have to do! LOL

Me neither

by Mona (no login)

I don't know if I saw the Darkly Dawns the Duck premiere or not, but I do remember seeing the show on the Disney afternoon. I was a wee lass, only about five. I watched faithfully until Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers went off the air. Then I became involved in other activities and I didn't have time to sit in front of a TV anymore. Of course, in due time, my interest in DW renewed.

My memory is not photographic, so I can't recall the first episode I ever see. I do remember seeing parts of episodes I once watched. It's such an adventure to watch Toon Disney and say, "Hey! I remember this scene!"

Parts I recall:

Megavolt: Hey! Quiet down there! I need my beauty sleep! (Whirled History)

Bushroot's transformation sequence (Beauty and the Beet)

Paper Boy: Extra, extra! Read all about it! Darkwing Duck stole...all my papers. (Disguise the Limit)

Most of "My Valentine Ghoul" and "Just Us Justice Ducks"

Hey you guys.

by (no login)

Long time no see! Anyway, the original reason for this message is, last year, on September 7 (the ten year anniversary of "Darkwing Duck") a group of friends (who I refer to as: Us) got together and started chatting. The chat was such a hit that the last person to leave (me) left at 3 am. That was so much fun that I was thinking we should do it again. Maybe this Friday or something. So, post a review or email me if you guys are interested in this idea. Thanx a bunch!!

Disney Universe: the invitation

by (no login)

Hi there. Just spreading the word about this new Role Playing Game site. It's called "Disney Universe" ( URL: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DisneyUniverse ) and it encourages one to create "off-screen personas for their favorite cartoon characters, Disney or otherwise. Steelbeak, Darkwing himself and Negaduck are all already taken, but I believe that all of the other DWD characters are still up for grabs so, if you want to swing on by and join in the fun, go ahead.

A Darkwing Duck episode's been edited!

by NegaDuck (no login)

Have any of you guys noticed on the episode "Time and Punishment" right after Dark Warrior sprays Megavolt with the hose, it suddenly shows him going toward Gosalyn with a missle in his Gas Gun? I'm sure you all remember that it didn't go like that. And that you do remember that instead Gosalyn runs up to Dark Warrior and says something like "Wait stop! This isn't you!" And then Dark Warrior points his Gas Gun at her and then she sticks her finger in it, (was this why it was edited?) and then says "I'm not afraid of your Gas Gun!" And then Dark Warrior says "I haven't used that old thing in years." And then a missle mounts in his Gas Gun and Gosalyn looks all terrified and then he starts going toward her with it. Does anyone know exactly why this scene was edited and not others?

Not really...

by (no login)

No, I don't really know, Negs. Maybe, for some dumb reason, the "sticking the finger in the gun" part was the reason that was edited (pretty dumb reason in my book). Still "Time and Punishment" was one of the luckier episodes; at least it still gets aired. a few of the episodes ("Bearskin Thug", "Tiff of the Titans" and "Hot Spells") don't even make the air AT ALL anymore.

Yeah you're right1I totally remember Darkworriar(however u spell it.) Stickin his finger in teh gun. Man it's not like that's gonna make KIDS stick their fingers in guns or something. If they can make Negaduck force teh Fearsome Five to do stuff by using a chainsaw, then they can make Darkwarrior stick his index finger into a gun.

DW censorship

by Eric (no login)

I remember when DW was on my local station, they NEVER showed "Hot Spells", one of the best eps. Probably because of the connection with witchcraft, the devil, Hell, etc. As if that's the worst thing kids are going to see on TV.

Some cut out dialog you may have noticed:

Gosalyn exclaiming "This really blows!" in "When Aliens Collide".

Bushroot saying to some flowers in "Twin Beaks", "No one's going to call us a bunch of pansies!"

At least on my station they were cut.

Okkkay...I have a story!!!

by (no login)

I already finished this story, and as vain as it may sound,I think it's pretty good:) I think the sequel is turning out to be really good though

Any way.Back to the story. The them is confusing to anyone first reading it,because the theme just pops up out of nowhere as you're reading. It is 25 computer pages long(like how long 1 website page is)It is called King of the Negaverse.Now.
Why is it confusing?I'll tell you why:
At the beginning of the story, all the Negaversians leave the Negaverse to teach Negaduck a lesson.Negaduck tricks the Fearsome Four into going to the Negaverse and he makes the portal disappear with a switch. Now,you think "Negaduck is the villain." No.You are wrong.Anyway.Negaduck makes a ray gun and he forces the Fearsome Four to get him the srystal with eyes on it like in "Jail Bird".It is not broken because they're in the Negaverse;everything's the opposite. He gets that crystal,and...bal bla bla...gets DNA...la la...OK.And then he makes his own Mega-Negaduck,because he knows that everyone would know how to stop him already but if he had a Mega-Negaduck on his side then they'd be "unstopable".So,...ok ill just say the real theme now.
It's about Negaduck and Mega-Negaduck fighting over the Negaverse.
And,no,it's not like some Disney movies, where there's always ALWAYS some couragious knight,or something that can beat the villain with ease.No.Negaduck almost dies,I'll tell you that. But Negaduck and Mega-Negaduck fight at the end.

There's also a sequel called King of the Negaverse II:Return of the Immortal Monster. On this,Mega-Negaduck..ooh yeah.I gotta tell you how they beat him on the 1st one, don't I?No...I'll just skip this part in it....Anyway.Mega-Negaduck comes back.On this story, theres a lot of characters I made up.Back to the story.Oh.And on the story it's the year 2301(don't ask.Read King of the Negaverse and you'll understand),and Negaduck realizes that Mega-Negaduck will return.Mega-Negaduck has a stone called the "Stone of Eternity",and...I don't want to give it away.Any way,He wants his revenge on Negaduck, and he has an evil plan to do so:
He wants to make super-clones of all Negaduck's friends and kill the originals, and then after a while, order the super-clones to kill him.Sigh...ok i'm gonna summarize for now on...
he makes a super-clone of jeffrey,a toon i made up(I also made up his super-clone,Super-clone Jeffrey, and I made up Stevie, and I made up M.E.,and Galio, too),with the stone. They try to find him so they can kill him. Finally, they catch him,but he escapes, taking the stone with him.they catch him again...la la...Umm...Can you read the rest by yourself? Thanks

Caution: LONG post ahead!

by (no login)

Those infamous three "lost" Darkwing episodes, as listed on The Darkwing Duck Diary, have been calling me lately. In other words... I have this uncontrollable urge to write them down into what they could have been, had the show stayed on the air (considering my drive to write my original DW stories has more or less died). In case you don't remember what those three episodes were, allow me...
"Yours, Mayan, and Ours"
Featuring the return of Taurus Bulba/ The Steerminator, and a new hero.
"Breakfast of Chumpions"
Featuring Comet Guy and a new villain, Parmizon the Planet Eater.
"Pranks for The Memories"
Featuring the return of Paddywhack.
Okay, here's the thing. I've got some inspiration for each of the stories by that information alone, but not a whole lot. Here is what I have so far:
"Yours, Mayan, and Ours"
Taurus Bulba takes a visit to somewhere in Latin America, where he hears that a special relic lies in the ruins of some great sorceror. Bulba guesses that this relic could have the power to regenerate the organic body parts which he had previously lost, and maybe some supernatural powers to destroy Darkwing once and for all.
The "new hero" I've had in mind for this story is a character from a Darkwing comic published in an OLD issue of Disney Adventures Magazine, titled, "Busman's Holiday." His name is Miztec Mallard, and he looks like an exact clone of Darkwing with a different costume. I thought this would be a good idea because (A) Miztec is from Latin America, and should know something about this relic, and (B) since he looks like Darkwing, and he's a GOOD guy (y'know, as opposed to Negaduck, since he's a bad guy?), he and Darkwing could play the ol' switcharoo on him.
The only drawbacks I'm facing are: (A) How could I properly introduce Miztec, without changing the story of how he and DW first met, and without disorienting the reader? (B) Where are the ruins located, who is the sorceror, and what is the relic and how does it work? (C) What price must Bulba pay for using the relic (i.e., a curse)? (D) How does DW find out what Bulba's doing? (E) How can Gosalyn be involved in all this, as she usually is when it comes to Bulba?
"Breakfast of Chumpions"
The word "parmizon," as I've found out, is an improper pronunciation of "parmesan," as in the cheese. One look at the title "Planet Eater," and I knew that they mean that literally. I was immediately reminded of two characters from DC comics when I realized this: Galactus, a villain who feeds off of planets; and his old employee turned hero, The Silver Surfer. Y'see, the Surfer used to seek out planets for Galactus, in return of him not eating his home planet. So, I decided, "Why not make this one a spoof of The Silver Surfer story?" I thought maybe Parmizon could zap Comet Guy into becoming HIS slave to seek planets, with a "cheesy" name like The Swiss Surfer, or The Gorganzola Glider. Comet Guy would take Parmizon to DW's world, and DW has to turn Comet Guy back to normal and save the world once again.
The only real problems I face are: (A) The actual development of the story, and (B) Parmizon's personality.
"Pranks for The Memories"
I have NO ideas for this one. Surprised?
Sooo... with that said, can anyone please help me brainstorm this? The least I need is some random suggestions or ideas. Anybody care to speak up (or forever hold your peace, lol)?

Actually.....

by (no login)

Galactus and the Silver Surfer are MARVEL comics characters; NOT DC. Still, you have a good idea using this "Breakfast of Chumpions" idea to spoof the Silver Surfer/Galactus debut story (perhaps even using the Justice Ducks in the Fantastic Four role [and yes, i KNOW there are technically FIVE Justice Ducks]).

Anyway as for "Yours, Mayan and Ours", you could have Darkwing (in his civilian identity of Drake Mallard) and Gosalyn invited over to Latin America by an old grade school chum of Drake's and have this school chum, unbeknowst to Drake or Gosalyn, be Miztec Mallard's civilian identity (make up the civilian name yourself).

Along the course, they could meet this chum's family (which includes Morgana's Latin American counterpart as Miztec's wife and Gosalyn's magically-powered Latin American counterpart as the biological daughter to sort of provide some VERY SUBTLE differences between Miztec and Darkwing [and no, I haven't thought of names for either one]; which, if the relic is magical, would provide a semi-logical means of Darkwing and Miztec figuring out Bulba's plan).

As for the offering bit, maybe the relic may require an offering of water, electricity, earth and pure evil, which would lead Bulba to recruit the Fearsome Five [bribing Negaduck with the offer of the relic's power] to not only complicate masters further for the heroes, but also have an easy means of meeting the sacrificial requirements [Megavolt being the electrical offer, Bushroot being the earth offering, Liquidator being the water offering and Negaduck being the pure evil offering].

I can't help much in the "Pranks for the Memories" section, or for that matter, the "Breakfast of Chumpions" section. Still, I hope I wasn't being a total waste.

Here's an idea, if you'd call it that....lol

by (no login)

About a year ago, I wrote a story called, The Defeat of Paddywhack. It wasn't all that good, but I'll tell you what my basic idea was. As we know, at the end of The Haunting of Mr. Banana Brain, Paddywhacks box was thrown into the bay. Then the fish ate it, and we have now idea what happened next.
In my story, the Fearsome Five accidentally brings him back (with the help of three of my fanfic characters). While highjacking a shipment of precious jewels, Negs comes across a crate of fish. Unknown to everyone, Paddywhack happenes to be trapped inside one of the fish and is set free when the crate is opened. In the story, he destroys the Five, plus two of my own char.
In the end, my remaining char, Ami, has to get Darkwings help to stop Paddywhack. They use Quackerjacks Time Top to go back in time, stop Paddywhack, and save Amis' friends.
This was just the idea I used, but maybe it can give you some insight as to what to do.

WOA GEEZE

by (no login)

Thats a very werid but interesing story,Jade lol. I have a pretty weird story 2,its really loooooooonnnnngggggggggg.........but the main idea is that Quackerjack and Megavolt die and they're going 2 heaven but instead they accidentily go 2 a place called halo, and theres a god called Halo there, and he wants them to be his prisoners but later he wants them killed because they always help his prisoners escape, and he wants 2 eat the prisoners because he is a barbarian, and one of the prisoners is called Qu
