I must initially begin by thanking you for the opportunity, that is if you are actually reading this, to open up some educated dialogue on Ernest Guevare de La Serna's legacy. Believe me, it would be rather easily for me to personally attack you and your accomplishments, or lack of, in life. Rather, I choose to opt out of this technique and would prefer to attempt, with your consent, to educate you on the obvious stereotypes you hold towards this man. Let me begin by addressing the fact that you believe Che didnt even know how to ride a bike. You must have your connections but I believe none would know better than the actual man who accompanied him on this journey. Feel free to ask, and therefore subsequently insult, Alberto Granado if Che knew how to ride a bike. Maybe he wasnt the greatest at it, but I see it hard to believe that Granado drove through multiple countries on his own. Questioning this mans journey and subsequent epiphony is an outrage and an insult to all those who benefitted from the revolution. Tell me when have you had the guts to take on such a journey with the scarce physical and nutritionary resources as Guevara and Granado did? This journey was not a simple week at a resort like many of your counterparts might relate to, it was an experience that few individuals including yourself, will probably never get the opportunity to live. True his myth or reality might've lost alot of it's essence due to it's dissemination through popular culture. Yet, let me remind you that not all of us young "punks" wear his apparel for the simle slavery of fashion. Those of us who truly know what he stood, and continous to stand for, wear this like I'm sure you are wearing a cross around your neck as you read. It is a question of passion and belief. Rememberance and praise, idolization and respect. This man achieved what few have ever done. Yes the Bolivian army, a strong one at that, quickly defeated him. Just remember here was a man fighting with few men, without the aid of a tired and lackluster Castro, against not only Bolivia, but a United States aided Bolivia. I assure you that a simple Bolivian army witout CIA assistance would've failed like the Cuban army did when Che and under 20 soldiers of him achieved the greatest turnover of a U.S. implemented Latin American gov't. If his legend is such an exaggeration, why havent more brave souls like you attempted to create and dissolve what he did? In a world dominated by American imperialism, too many are content and lack the initiative to give up their lives like this man did. Perhaps too many like you dislike him because he actually had the balls to question what is American rule! Forgive Che Guevara for not succumbing to the United States led Oppression that was occuring, and continues to occur, in his day. Perhaps Castro has truly forgotten what the revolution was intended to do, but do not have the nerve to forget what one of the bravest and most complete individuals, who lived with an actual purpose, accomplished. Make fun of his looks, i actually find it amusing. Yet if you wish to insult him actually support your claims rather than doing what cowards do and simple finding vague methods of humiliation. Please keep reading. Che was not Hitler, Hitler wouldnt hold the military bag of Che if it came down to it. He did not create the genocide of millions. How dare you use that analogy? Sure he killed, but he did this to survive against an entire country, multiple countries, who were trying to kill him. What would you do in that situation? And finally, Castro not wanting Che might be an assumption on your part, but whether he did or didnt is not the point. What is, is the fact that Che did not settle on a single accomplishment. He did not dwell on the praises of a single goal. He had the guts to continue revolutions in places he saw adequate. Our world could use someone like him to dissperse the hypocritical and imperialistic, neo-liberal led, so called leaders who oppress their citizens. If you're argument is true, Castro did this because he realized what many still know to this day: The revolution was and only would've been successful with CHe. He saw Che as a threat to his personal goals and legacy. It is no coincidence that Castro and his brother, both failed at their initial attempt to win the revolution and it wasnt until they recruited Che that it finally happened. Like him or not, the facts are their and history shows it. This county will never truly embrace him because people like you see and will continue to see him as anti-american. They see him as a man who unlike many did not concede his beliefs to an Imperialistic country and who challenged the unsung rule of American Rule. And this is why America will one day invade CuBa. They wish to dissperse of all remains of that famous revolution just like they cowardly did that fateful day in the Bolivian Jungle. VIVA CHE! May all you who fail to see his greatness one day realize that he is the last of great human beings!
