I knew that however carefully I planned the URA thing, something unexpected would come up. It didn't take long to happen.
Specifically, it concerns a nomination of a gallery which includes material that, frankly, I consider X-rated. Now, I'm no prude - many ReBoot fans know that! - but there's a time and a place for that kind of thing. Keep it out of the hands of the kids, don't put Hustler in with the Pokemon magazines. I'd consider it irresponsible to link to that kind of material, thus promoting it to mainstream ReBoot fans, many of whom are underage or don't want to see that sort of thing. So, I'm adding a "No X-rated Material" to the nominations form.
sigh I hate having to play the censor.

I'll add two points to this. First, The Open Directory Project and other Web direfctories segregate adult sites and keep them completely separate from the rest of the directory, again under the rationale that there's a time and place for adult material, but it should be kept separate. The second point is that Mainframers often keep tabs on high profile sites and fan activity, and It's be crass to promote X-rated material in front of them, not to mention the risk I'd be taking. It's not worth it to me.
