The other day Karen and I were out and about with Rex and Heather looking for stone tools. Thank's to Rex I think that I have the knack. Just after seeing what stone tools look like and a little help, well just a little bit more help. ( smile ) I am now confident of what to look for and now I am learning where to look. In some Rex's books there are photo's of these tools some are small and some are big. Rex and Heather's books are a great source of information.
For those who are interested in getting out there and looking for these tools, I have found it very rewarding. These tools can quite literally turn up any where. I found a large stone club in my back yard. It weighed 7.62 kg. Dry / flowing creeks and river bed are a good place to start and a very good place would be are where there are mountainous area's where these creeks and rivers are. Try to visualise where you would live if you were a ancient hominid. High and dry above the water would be a safe place to start. ( Smile ) Who knows you might bump into homo erectus him or herself, or any of the other hominids that are out there.
I hope to have a few more tools for Rex and Heather the next time they come to Tamworth or I might deliver them when I go to Katoomba. ( Soon! )

Glad to see you now know where and how to look for these stone tools etc....
What about footprints...found any of them yet?
I found a new Uru site for Rex last week in the Blue Mountains. Full of scripts and stylised art and a stone circle and what appears to be a rock that was cut out for people to sit on.
Also a carving of a ship-three serpents intertwined and a huge glyph that could be where they lived..its cut into sections.
When Rex and I go there this friday-for an interview with the local newspaper, I wil show Rex and Heather. It's a huge site.
New site I just started as well, which will be only the up-to-date evidence and theories.
Take care Scott
