Calling All Aliens - Tv Show Last Night
Last night (Sunday the 30th of June 2008) on Australian Tv station SBS they showed the second episode of a two part series "calling all Aliens". Search in Space. A two part German documentary.
A behind-the-scenes look at the real-life Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) with scientists using highly sensitive radio telescopes to hunt for alien signals.
There was one man who was against sending out every single bit of information about humans-as we did on the Voyager missions. He made sense.
But..what made me think about what this man said was this. They showed a public school who had been choosen to send a video mesage to these aliens. An example: Hi my name is laura here is my hair sample can you clone me...Hi mr aliens here is a piece of my hair...
So the Voyager mission sent Drawings of helium-the atom..hydrogen, our DNA where we live and messages from all languages etc...This disk will not only do that it will have on board our DNA from children. As they stated at the end, these two disks could one day be the only thing to remember that Earth even existed.
