I just watched on the news that Michael Jackson has died. As a musician It is a sad day for me. As most people we have grown up with the Jackson's and then Michaels solo career.
In the 80's a good friend of mine, his brother-who wed an Aboriginal girl, their boys were invited by the Aboriginal Land council to Sydney and Michael allowed them to be on stage with them. He also took these boys and girls and their families on a cruise around Sydney harbour all day then gave them all a video player and al his videos and other presents.
My friends brother always defended him when he was attacked about allegations as he said he was the kindest, most generously down to Earth person he had ever met.
As I watch the news I have a tear as I think of life and friends and family, including my own father who died in the 90's.
Death is never easy for those who are left or who feel a a part of something or someone's life
R.I.P.
I hope the world focuses on his legacy of music. |
