The Wendigo are a tribe of the Garou that Conner was a descendant of. His great great great grandfather was the last of his family to be born with the gift of being a fullblooded Wendigo, the mystical protectors of Mother Earth.
(WoD note... if you've played Werewolf than it's based on the same aspects of the Wendigo they have in the Werewolf the Apocalypse handbook, only i have added a nice playable spin)
His brother Nash was doded on constantly by his father most often neglecting Conner. In the wrestling business Nash was always the favored one forcing Conner to go out on his own and find his own niche in life.
It was on his many travels through the Dakota's when the company he worked for was touring that he met an elder Medicine man. He couldn't take his eyes off of Conner and finally approached him.
He told Conner of his vision that he saw a young warrior mystic that would come and recalim the lost heritage that was ripped away from their people several generations ago. Conner was always respectful and often enjoyed taking in the wisdom of his elders and peers. A child of the wilderness would come and he would help in one who had fallen find redemption. He often went back to seek the old mans wisdom and in doing so was unaware of becoming the old Shamans pupil.
His practices also consisted of other cultures spiritual and mystical ties. It was quite some time later that he too would have a vision.
In his vision he saw much death. A few ships landed on a shore and he watched on as the large warriors had poured out. Many of them bore fangs and other such animalistic features. He noted that amongst them he saw several others that were touched by the wolf spirit and his people too had called forth for the people of the wolf spirit and they too joined the battle. The battle was feirce and bloody as he sat behind the battle lines as if in preperation and then there they were.
Three large invading wolf warriors collapsed their defenses as the warriors of his tribe fought on valiantly bringing the numbers of the invaders down yet still they battled on. Foaming at the mouths while some would change their shape and pounce on shocked victims. His warriors were not without as the people of the wolf spirit raged back holding the line.
He stood to his feet seeing the large weapon come chopping down. Side stepping it he stepped on the handle and drove his knee into the giant wolfs face snapping it's head back angering it more. Backing away from it he watched it circle and then pounce. His hand shot out in defense and grapsed at the air before him all the while a giant hand formed of earth caught the giant wolf man and slammed him into another one that was trying to attack another elder of his tribes council. But not all of his tribes council members were fortunate as one werewolf snatched one of them up and tore him asunder cutting off his gargled screams.
His eyes locked on the killer of his companion and began to glow. The air around him grew cold and began to swirl about causing debris to pick up and get thrown about. Turning it's head it growled fixing it's eyes on him readying itselt for it's next meal. However it was obviously not to be since the crinos form werewolf was slammed so hard into the earth by a bolt of lightning the very impact caused a small crater. Three more bolts came crashing down onto the now burning body of the giant man wolf.
The mystical energies opened his eyes more where he saw a beautiful maiden. Her armour was similar to the armour the invaders wore but what seperated her from them was the fact that there were more women. Some with wings while others flew about on the backs of gigantic horses. But the one before him just watched him, unmoving, yet her sapphire eyes, cold and stern, seemed to become gentle and inquisative. Her golden hair hung down in two braids, and her skin was much lighter than his own. Easilly she was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen, even if she had wings.
Her mouth opened slightly when he felt himself pulled back into reality by a sharp pain in his back. Lurching forward he dropped to one knee grasping at his back only to find a spear lodged in deep. Looking up at the woman he watched her dematerialise as another of the invading warriors charging at him bringing his blade up into his face and then darkness.....
He awoke in the present with the old man who smiled back at Conner nodding.
" She lost her place because of you. Now you must help her find her way back home or there will be darker times ahead."
His Wendigo ancestors have decreed this and it will be so.
