that Casey Claussen COULD NOT START FOR HALF OF THE TEAMS IN THE SEC.
And for all you SHEEP that say The Heisman doesn't mean anything to you are LYING. If Travis Stephens was in the running, everyone of you would be on the Pumpkin Wagon.

because I could care less if Travis Stephens or any other TN player is in the running for the Heisman.
JC, I hope the folks at Ole Miss handle little bro's publicity over the next couple of years better than what TN did with Peyton. No doubt in my mind desension was created by the media circus surrounding PM. I don't think teammates revolted against Manning personally, but I do think they got sick & tired of hearing the hype and so many folks focusing on one player vs the team. JMO.
Also, there may be several better QB's in the SEC better than Clausen but I'm one Big White fan that doesn't mind going to war with him. Clausen is far from perfect, but I think he is continuing to improve and is certainly capable of winning BIG with the athletes TN has to surround him.
If I'm not mistaken, Clausen is 12-2 as a starter at TN. NO WAY can you pin one of those losses (GA) on Clausen's performance. Out of the 14 games CC has started my breakdown of his performance would look like this:
Stunk it up: 2 games (K St. & Syracuse)
Below average: 2 games (Memphis & Vandy last year)
Above average to very good: 10 games (Al, SC, KY in '00, and Ark, LSU, Ga, Al, ND, and Memphis in '01).
I don't consider CC's performance to shabby for a QB that started in the middle of his true freshman year. I also think it is safe to say Clausen has played 7 pretty damn good ballgames in a row.
JC, I think once he's finished little bro will end up being compared very similarly to his father: Great QB's at Ole Miss that never won an SEC title!
JC, I'm suprised you didn't at least note one QB in the ACC that is better than Clausen: AJ Suggs!

Just to show my sencerity, I am right now throwing The Ice Mans name in for the Heisman Trophy.
Now, everyone should feel better.

Casey is getting better & better & is a soph in college, while Eli is a Junior in college--3 years at Oxnard & in the Manning fooball camps!!
I am not sure Eli has not peaked already. This year is the best supporting cast he will have at Oxnard & what has he gotten: a jogging suit!! Correction: Eli has peaked at Oxnard, but he is still very good.
It's a shame that UT and Old Mrs. won't be playing against each other in the SEC championship game this year. Clausen would torch that shoddy secondary of the Rebels like Sherman through Atlanta. Worry about your own team JC.
