A Citrus Bowl Question

Which team will show up the flattest? Both lost their last regular season game and with it slipped out of the BCS into a "familiar" bowl game neither will be to thrilled with. My money is on UT. Outside of the UF game PF's teams are characterized for their uninspired and lackadaisical efforts anyway. With PF's coma inducing chrisma and a loftier perch from which to descend I would expect an all out free fall of lead balloon proportions from the Vols. Carr isn't a genius but he has proven to at least be a pretty descent bowl game coach while PF seems to have taken a powder since 98.

Also it will be interesting to see how the Vol Nation
responds to the loss. From my vantage point in the Dome Saturday night their was a lot of "frustrated" fans who may not be as eager to pack the kids and head South for a 12 hour trip. The only saving grace may be the match up is with Michigan. Any other Big 11 team and it could have been embarrassing. Looks like a good "sofa" match up to me.

Annually, both coaches do less with more than any coaches in the country. Carr has won his last 4 bowl games, Fulmer is 1-3 in his last 4.

Besides a hobbled Bama team, who has Michigan played the last 4 years, I don't remember?

Michigan's last bowls:

96 season: loss to Alabama in the Outback bowl
97 season: win over Wash St. in the Rose for split title
98 season: win over Arkanasas in Citrus
99 season: win over Alabama in Orange
2000 season: win over Auburn in Citrus.

In comparison...

UT was 3-0 against those same teams during those years, plus beat Auburn and lost to Ark in different years.

Kansas St.
Nebraska
Florida St.
Nebraska

Our last 4 bowl opponents, of which we were not favored in any of the games, we are 1-3. I'd have rather had Michigan's opponents, if you smell what I'm cookin'.
