I come to do my morning check of content at SPS and what do I see? Continual bumping up of JC's I am back posts. More why I hate sheep or jethro's posts. AND NO SPORTS!!!!!!!! This is SPORTS PARLOR SOUTH is it not? Behind the scenes I have been working to get MICHIGAN involvement on this board leading up to the Citrus Bowl. Now if i am a Michigan Fan and I come to peak in here all I see is the continual BS and NO SPORTS TALK, I do not come back!!
The LSU fans posted back to me how sorry I must feel that we rounded some up to come post here. NO, I was pleased. It allowed some discussion between foes. And it allowed posters such as VOLHUNTER, Larkin and others that like to lay down the smack some fun! That is what we do here at SPS. We hunt for activities for our base of members, and we also add IMHO crerativity in interaction.
A few sports threeds would be nice! I know many here would have loved to hear a congrats from JC, that will never happen. The slllllooooowww period in this business is approaching Christmas. Then a fast and furious week leading up to New Years and the Citrus Bowl hits. To get the most pleasure out of that week we need to do our homework. That week ends football season then ALL of us fans must wait 8 LOOOONNNGGG months for a fix! Lets make the most of the period leading up to the end

like a general overview of your Michigan Wolverines & what your early thoughts are on the upcoming game. Will EITHER team be motivated to get after it on Jan. 1? Are Michigan fans excited about the matchup since the two schools have never played? Are Michigan fans as down-in-the-dumps since their loss to Ohio St at TN fans are with the loss to LSU? What kind of season has the Brackins' boys had this season? Do you consider Askew a big-time back? Is there ANY WAY Marquis Walker can get open if Teddy Gaines is defending one-on-one (LMAO)?...

Keep this in mind-- Michigan will come to play. They might get their backside kicked-- (unfortunately this is an off year for U-M) but the Maize-N-Blue Wrecking Crew has some issues to resolve on Jan. 1.
****
Don't expect any excuses from U-M one way or the other following this contest.

PS Please tell some of these knuckleheads Michigan has just as much speeeeeeeed as UT or anyone else. If I hear one more time how The Wolverines can't handle UT's speed I think I will puke.
The last three years Michigan has beat Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn in Bowl games--- We should be able to compete against UT's speed-- I just don't know yet whether we will win the game.

I appreciate and echo ATM's thoughts on UM and the upcoming bowl game. Win or lose, the school and the coaching staff will take responsibility and if needed bitter medicine.
The osu loss was extremely bitter...even in an off year. We have seized the opportunities to spoil osu seasons during the Cooper era. osu did an excellent job of spoiling our season. They kicked our asses.
Losing D. Henson was a setback. Navarre's throwing arm can be erratic and M Walker can be inconsistent. However, when they both click, UM can drive the ball well...especially under pressure.
UM has added speed to an already quick and powerful down line, excellent Defense and very good special teams. This additional speed has progressed from Desmond Howard up through last year's team. Take a look at the Bears and what A Train has done as well as what David Terrell could do if he would shut up and catch.
In my opinion UM's offense was beaten out by osu's desire. (See Walker's dropped TD pass in the 3rd qtr)
The osu game is a contained loss. It does what it does but UM should have the ability to contain it and focus on the bowl game.
Growing up, I was taught that the UM football season always has three prioritized objectives:
1)Win the osu game (Beating osu can gain you grace for an otherwise bad season...for awhile)
2)Win the BIG TEN
3)Win your bowl game (Bo of course had some deficiencies in this area)
As has been said, on paper UT should be heavily favored. The season ended in disappointment for both teams (especially UT). However, once both teams get on the field, desire will have a big affect. I believe UM will hold an edge here. Win or lose, they should hold nothing in reserve and should leave nothing on the field.
My parents, born and raised in Battle Creek. My Mom went to Michigan, I go back to Gull Lake near Kalamazoo every summer.
The Wolverines have tradion and once again the biggest stadium in the NCAA. There is everything to play for in this year end closing first time matchup.
I for one will get into it and Razzzzz the heck out of Mom And Dad.
I understand the importance of recruiting but I hope Coach Fulmer understands the importance of this game. If not, then I have underestimated him.
Michigan lead Division I college football this past season in sacks. This stat is a little misleading because at times this season U-M was muscled by big strong offensive lines-- like Michigan State and Ohio State. This is a good unit but they are far from dominant.
The U-M defense is lead by its strong LB trio of Larry Foote-- Big Ten Defensive Player Of The Year, Eric Brackins-- Gatlinburg's finest, and Victor Hobson-- A junior from NJ.
Up front U-M will alternate roughly 10 players. Their top defensive lineman are Soph DE Shantee Orr, JR DE Dan Rumishek and SR DT Jake Frysinger-- who was recently spotted at Schmebechler Hall on crutches.
One of U-M's top defenders, especially against the run, is SS Julius Curry, who missed the second half of the season with nerve damage in his shoulder. Michigan's defense slipped considerably the second half of the season following the loss of Curry. Julius is expected to play in the Citrus Bowl.
UT will probably pick on Sr CB Todd Howard who has a proclivity for biting on play- action, and getting beat deep. Howard is also rather small, so I would assume he will be lining up versus Stallworth.
That means Kelly Washington will be lined-up against a FR CB by the name of Marlin Jackson, who I believe UT recruited. Jackson is a great talent but I'm not sure he's ready to guard Washington.
So basically, if U-M doesn't get a lot of pressure on Clausen, UT should be able to exploit U-M's secondary.
Can Michigan contain UT's running game ???? I'm hoping, but OSU and MSUran the ball right down UM's throat.
