The Need For an SPS Sponser

As the Parlor continues to grow and expand it has now come to the point where the need for a benefactor or sponsor is needed.
Plumbervol and myself have been paying out the $$$'s it takes to try and keep the Parlor next level and up and coming. Now I will grant you that we are not talking major dollars here but its time to come up with a plan to defray those expenses. Especially as they continue to rise.
I have put out a few feelers for a sponser but as of yet to no avail. I believe the internet still does not have a good reputation for bringing in the dollar hits to advertisers other than porn sites. That is just the brutal truth.
What I need is some input from those members of the Parlor that care enough to get involved. I do understand that many just want to visit casually and that is fine, but we attempt many projects in here and get out the good word in many ways and feel that some advice from some of you that know more about the business and what SPS could do professionally to attract a sponsor would help PV and I a great deal.

Here are a few details;
A sponser, benefactor or a group of benefactors would have exclusive advertising (or lack of any advertising) by SPS subscribing to the premium service offered by the network 54 group. This would eliminate their advertising and either leave our forum clear of those blinking red banners or room for one advertisement at the top of each page. This would cost $18 a month for high traffic premiums as we are taking approx 100,000 page hits a month.
Also PV has domain name costs that I believe are around $10 a month.
To broadcast 3 shows a week on fancast the cost would be 29.95 a month.
So as it stands now, assuming we stay a not for profit venture, a total of approx $60 a month would clear our costs and transform the board to more of an SPS character than a network 54 sublet.

I appreciate any ideas from all members.
Thanks,
TBA

As I told you at your house watching the SECCG want to kick some funds to you for the Fancast broadcast fees. I get paid Friday and was planning to kick in $50 to help with expenses. I would suggest cutting broadcasts down to twice weekly until more interest is generated.

I had Cut Back

December 23 2001, 8:45 AM

to two shows a week PV but the way the costs run I can buy a 6 pack of shows for $19.95 which would be a monthly cost for 8 shows of exactly what I can pay for 12 shows at $29.95.
What I envision here is one show a week that is impromptu and generated to a day and time by the Parlor members and basically SPS related. Then two shows a week in the nationally open version.
This month I have spent $30 on the show so I will pitch in another $20 to start maybe a 3 month operating fund until we can formulate a yearly SPS plan or secure a sponsor. So initially we are looking to raise another $110 to carry us for the next three months.
I know that Dawg and Carter have already committed to help so this goal could be easily reached with the help of a few others.
Meanwhile when we get this done, SPS will be free of advertising except to say that we are sponsored by the membership of SPS and looking for one advertiser with an exclusive package for all web & board pages and "Sports Parlor" shows.

I am so looking forward to moving out of the sublet category of the network 54 group!!!!
And have a better position to hold them accountable as to DOWN TIME.
Thanks PV

THE IRONY IS THICK!!

This plea looks very simular to the one that was in the Feel Good Gazette this week. The Irony of the whole thing is that under the circumstances I feel like one of the sheep.
1st, you have Tall Guy pulling sheeps strings at will, treating them like used c^m rags for 364 days a year, and now that the money is tight, he is out there begging them to pitch in and help out so he won't have to carry the burden.
And now we have this plea this morning with pretty much the same plot. Personally, I feel offended because of all the scrutiny that I have come under the last few weeks. I have supported this board since DAY 1 and here recently have been giving pretty much the same treatment as I have recieved from some Yankee talk show host.
By the way, to whom at may concern. I have still NOT RECIEVED an answer stating which rule I broke concerning the FULLY CLOTHED FEMALE SOCCER PLAYER being deleted from my post.
I don't understand how I can contribute to this board if I am singled out and have post DELETED AT WILL just because I AM NOT A BIG WHITE FAN. Maybe there is some underlying factor being played here that I am not aware.
My point being, what is the difference in The Tall One not being Accountable to the people, and people running this board not being accountable for their actions. All I ask is to be FAIR. IS THAT SO HARD. I ask for one question to be answered, and am still waiting for the spin.
