Twas the night before the Citrus Bowl and only AM 990 was broadcasting live from Orlando. AM 1240 is not only not at the Citrus Bowl, but they aren't even doing pre game shows on December 31 or Jan. 1.

Fair weather UT fans! If UT was in the Rose or Orange bowl, we would be hearing a live broadcast from either of those sites today and tomorrow up until game time. But since you didn't make it to a BCS bowl game and ended up in the citrus bowl(chuckle), you treat your beloved vols like a stepchild. Now that's a damn shame! Cheer for your boys during the good and bad times!!

990 didn't do a show after the MORE IMPORTANT SECCG. 1240 did. Does that mean 1240's ratings should be higher because they "outworked" 990 that day? Surely as one who FORMERLY worked in radio, you do understand EVERYTHING that affects a station's ratings, not just the little crap you want to make your personal attacks about. You're like a whiny little spoiled brat who wants to tell on somebody. Again, pathetic is the best way to describe you.

First of all, let me say I have absolutely nothing against you(except your a Michigan fan) and what I'm going to say doesn't have anything to do with my association with Basilio. In fact, once I met you back in the day I found you to be a decent, hard working fella that had pride in your work. Also, I've always appreciated any compliments you've thrown my way.

However, do you realize how your diatribes against Basilio make you look? You may dislike him down to the core, but man, keep it to yourself instead of spewing the venom on here. You should be above some kind of public one-way, cat-fight.

Also, just like I told Basilio on Saturday, it is a mistake not to be on the air today. Hell, New Year's Eve isn't a holiday until close to midnight! Anyway, he said he was going to give folks time off today since we'd be doing the 5th Quarter tomorrow immediately after the game--ON NEW YEARS DAY.

Honestly, even as late as this past Saturday's program there's not been alot of talk about TN vs. Michigan on the show. In fact, most conversation has been forced by us asking callers questions instead of them calling into discuss the game.

Finally, TB asked if I wanted to go down for the game so we would program from Orlando but I told him he'd be going without me. I do hold down a full-time job & I need to be back working on Jan 2nd. However, I will admit if TN had made it to the Rose Bowl then I'd taken some more vacation & headed west, but time off for the CB wasn't worth it for me.

TB not programming from Orlando may or may not hurt his ratings (that some of you seem to worry to death over), but based on the overall interest of this game from folks in the area, I don't think it's any big deal. JMO.

The two biggest shows leading up to UT's bowl game should be priorities for any reputable sports talk show
that specializes in UT athletics. Thats not a personal attack that's a fact.

PS I made a comment on how big a mistake it was for AM 990 didn't have a sportstalk show until 3:30PM on the the Monday following the SEC Championship game.

will 990's post game show start tomorrow? How many hours will it run to give fans an opportunity to discuss the game while it's fresh in your memory?

Someone will have to tell me how wild and wooley the 990 show is today because I'll be WATCHING football, not listening to the same crap being rehashed for the 3rd straight week. Now tomorrow, I'll be tuned in listening AFTER the game when there IS something to talk about.

I have to admit that it is bad that Basilio or anyone from 95.7 isn't in Orlando covering the game. I'm not a big 990 fan but they definitely out performed the Next Level this time.

not surprising!!!! I have to give Swampy credit for having a show today. Dewey is getting stronger every day. He is just a good old Southern gentleman who one can chew the fat with.

But I have listened in on the snooze today. I caught Gus, Small Mike, even Erik and enjoyed the show. Have to admit I am a sports talk junkie. Missed most of Dewey's show today because of Dr. appointment and general chores that have to be done. Would have loved to have called him today.

Another reason I don't listen to Basillio or The Team. All of the promos are a joke. The latest one about the "girl talk" is about as sexist remark that I've heard on radio in a long time. I know plenty of females that know more about sports than have the idiots that call to sports talk shows.

Yea, Listen to Deweys show if you want to hear 200 people call in and give a score for the game. Or if you want to hear Bama fans take over the whole program. Deweys show is laughable!!!!!! Great UT Q-back and I respect the man but he should not be on the radio, just horrible radio IMO.

The reason 990 doesn't have a post-game show is because they are apart of the Vol Network. The Vol Network has the locker room show and their own call in show. All of that is paid for by sponsors of the Vol Network. If 990 decided to cut away and do their own show, they would have to line up sponsors for that. Why do that when they have several hours of programming already paid for by someone else? That would be bad business.

If they did their own after the Vol Network signs off, they would be doing a show 2 or 3 hours after the game is over. By then, most people have already gotten on the Vol Network show or another show to speak their opinions. For late game, like the Arkansas game or SEC championship game, that show might not come on until 2 or 3 in the morning. I don't think there will be many participants at those hours.

Bringing up True and Factual constructive criticisms about the Stallion will get you banned from his radio show. You will never be able to call again.
