And a playoff will GUARANTEE an exciting, thrilling, knuckle-crunching, nail-biting game matching the two GREATEST, BEST TEAMS in all of football. Don't believe me, you BCS Bowl Game sheep? Well, let's look at the Grandaddy of them all, the end-all, be-all of football playoff systems, none other than the Super Bowl itself. In the last 20 years alone, we've had these wonderful game scores and you can only imagine, if you missed them (or the commercials anyway) how exciting and riveting they were. If you're lucky, you can catch them on ESPN Classic NFL!
Wholly Cow, Whoa Nellie! What a perfect way to insure a thrill-a-minute championship game. Get this damn plan implemented TODAY! That Miami team is a total fraud. I will never recognize ANY collegiate championship (UGA's in particular) because it WAS NOT played off. I am converted. I have seen the light. I will be on a caravan crusade starting immediately criss-crossing the country preaching the virtues of the fool-proof system. We have SEEN the devil, and the DEVIL is Roy Kramer. All you Miami fans, get back in your damn cars and get on over to New Orleans by Saturday night. By the end of this week, I will have your game with Florida set up. And if you can replay your performance from last night, I'm going to book you a room in Tempe to probably meet the Ducks in two weeks. Take care of that and then, and ONLY THEN, will you be considered a championship team!!!

Carter, good point. Thats why the NFL should NOT have an AFC and NFC play for the title. At the end of the season they should throw them all into the mix and if two NFC squads make it to the Super Bowl then so be it. Normally the championship games are very competitive. By the way. You stated on the last show that you don't watch or follow the NFL. Damn you are a sheep!
I don't watch the NFL, except for the Superbowl...commercials.
I do remember a bunch of really, really sucky games in between the commercials, but I did have to do a good ole' computer search to look up the scores.
I'm assuming if you don't want AFC-NFC conferences to screw things up, you surely don't want collegiate conferences to get in the way by requiring their pathetic champs to go to your playoff, do you? Just the best teams, no matter if they are all in one conference or not. Exactly what is your selection criteria going to be? Can't use the BCS or polls. You've damned them to hell forever. So please lay down the "Dog Playoff Qualification Criteria" for us all to better understand.
Either eliminate conferance Championships with an 11 game season, or go to ten games and make it mando that all title contenders have to play in one. After those are played (or not),
then take the top 8 teams as figured by the Coaches/UP/BCS poll and line them out in the four major bowl games.
Give the rest of the teams with two or more losses their "feelgood bowl". Not a damn thing wrong with those and I don't care how many they put out there.
Then after those four major games are played, once again let the same process as I listed above determine the champion.
IF the the coaches and UP polls are split, and those two teams are seperrated by a certain margine in the BCS rankings, then have a college superbowl type game that has been preset in case of such a phenom at the ready for the game of the damn cenutury.
Now I ask you, what in the hell is wrong with this idea?
