There's no ifs, buts about it. Nebraska got their ass's kick all over the field and I along with the 40 thousand fans want solich and that defensive cord. gone! This was the worst nebraska bowl game I have ever attended. It was a long trip back to knoxville. Nebraska lost big time....bottom line.
Now for any of you vol fans to think that ut accomblish more you must be kidding! Nebraska went to the rose bowl and UT went to the citrus bowl. Nebraska lost to a determined and great miami team, UT played a 8-4 big ten team. Nebraska sold out of tickets and received around 13 million for going to the rose bowl, UT barely sold 9000 tickets and got about 1 or two million. Nebraska played in it's 8th NC game, UT has only played in two!! Nebraska has it's thrid heisman winner and UT is still looking for one! Eric crouch is better than casel clausen and diedrick is way better than any running back UT has!! NU will be back next year ready to redeem themselves and if any of you think UT could have beaten nebraska this year you must be crazy. Hell they couldn't beat LSU or georgia. At least Miami won the championship and colorado finished way better than georgia! We will see how UT handles miami next year...remember 90% of that team is coming back and will beat the hell out of UT on their home field!!!
miami is a great team and will be better next year. They might do a repeat like nebraska has done('71,'72,'94,'95), but to say tenn would beat nebraska is crazy. Remember nebraska owns UT!! Manning and martin couldn't beat them and I know for damn sure Casey want do it. Tell your AD to schedule nebraska instead of texas tech or memphis. Nebraska would love to come to neyland stadium and paint it red!!!
Yeh Megaloidiot, go ahead & tout Miami now that the Canes
January 5 2002, 5:07 PM
kicked that mediocre Husker ass, but I do have a question for you: What did Miami do the Nebraska that COLORADO DIDN'T????????
Hell boy, don't get on here and tell me how great Miami is when they didn't beat your mediocre red ass any worse than the Buffs! Just so you'll remember punk, Colorado lost to Oregon 38-7!!!!!
The bottom line is exactly what I said for over a month, a MEDIOCRE Nebraska team HAD NO BUSINESS playing in Pasadena. Once TN FAILED against LSU, the Oregon Ducks should have been the team to take on the Canes--it's that simple.
Granted, Miami is probably the best team in the country this year, but honestly, beating Nebraska PROVED NOTHING. Oregon, TN, Fla, TX, and LSU ALL would have given the Canes a better game than the Huskers one dimensional ass.
By the way, your Heisman boy is a joke. Sure, Crouch is a great athlete and tough as nails, but he couldn't be a factor throwing the ball in one of these summer flag football leagues for high schoolers!
I just hope Ol' No. 7 can tackle. That's the only way he'll play in the NFL!
Tennessee wouldn't have giving miami a better game and that will be proven next year. You or any other vol fan can't say anything about nebraska because if I'm not mistaken Nebraska has beat the hell out of the vols twice, okay? When UT can win five NCs and get three heisman winners, then they will be on nebraska's level. I mean damn....UT beat florida in the swamp, but the gators went to a better bowl, played a better team, and ended up ranked above UT. Those vols get's no respect any where....none!!!! The only vol team that gets respect is the lady vols and the got trashed on their own home court(so UCONN disrespected them)
You wish UT was on the same level as Nebraska. You wish UT could have a heisman winner even though his team was blown out the last game of the season. You wish UT had five NC trophies and played in eight NC games. You wish that UT would not be known as the team that visit's the citrus bowl every two years. Hell mickey mouse should know phil fulmer personally now. And the bad thing about it is UT holds nebraska up on a pedalstool. After NU beat UT 42-17, Dr. Osborn was invited by Fulmer and Co. to speak at the Hyatt Regency in '98. Fulmer also sought the advise of Osborn on how nebraska players kept up stamina and requested a diet similiar to the ones nebraska players use. Go to the library and look up the jan. of '98 edition of knoxvilles paper and read and reap! So once again...UT SHOULD BOW DOWN TO THE HUSKERS!!!!
Meg, your Huskers haven't done anything in a 100 yrs of
January 7 2002, 1:25 PM
football that Miami's not done in TWENTY. You have five NC's and so do the Canes. Maybe it's the Huskers that ought to bowing down to Miami! Oh wait, hell they did that on Jan. 4th! 34-0 at halftime. What a damn joke.
Keep livin' in the past & you guys will end up like Bama. I have news for you: TOM OSBORNE IS NO LONGER YOUR COACH!!! Now you have Mr. Excitement himself, Frank Solich. Heck, it only took Bob Stoops two friggin' years to have a dismal OU program back on the same level as your Huskers. LMAO!
By the way, I do realize Nebraska waxed Tennessee twice in recent bowl games. However, the Husker team of 2001 DIDN'T COMPARE to either squad TN lined up against and I think you know it. You see, that was the basis of my argument the whole month of December while stating Oregon ought to be the team playing Miami. Mego, just like yourself, folks that thought Nebraska deserved to be in the NC game was basing their argument on Huskers PAST, not present.
Finally, I PROMISE YOU I couldn't care less about the Heisman Trophy. That silly award means nothing to me and if a TN player never wins it then so be it.
However, if the award had truly gone to the "best player in college football" in 2001 then one of two players would have received the award: Bryant McKinnie of Miami or Roy Williams of Oklahoma. Case closed.

You really are something. Let me get this straight. Nebraska could beat every SEC team, including Florida #3, and Tennessee #4, but you want to fire Solich. So you're basically ready to run off a coach that has the team competing in the top five. That's a brilliant idea.
In case you need reminding, it took Dr. Tom over 20 years and a lot of humiliating bowl losses before he won his first NC. I love your loyalty, and your class. Way to reward the many years of service Solich gave Neb. - fire him after two bad games.
And tell me again how we could possibly lay an egg bigger than Nebraska next year at Neyland Stadium. Miami could have named the score. With Spurrier at the helm, Miami would have scored 70. It truly was a joke of a game.
And how in the world do you come on talking crap after the two absolute disaster games that Nebraska put up at the end of the year.
Someone once said that it's better to remain quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. You remove the doubt on a daily basis.
