If you don't believe me then look at the polls!! Sec have three teams in the top ten( UT,FL,LSU), while the Big XII has four teams( NU,UT,CU,OKL). Now the florida lost it's coach and most of their players are leaning towards going pro, UT and other sec teams will have a field day on them. UT has washington going pro(he's to good and greedy to stick around) and they lose travis stephens(those other running backs don't have it yet). And LSU??Enjoy that feeling because they are in trouble next year.
Now Texas losses applewhite, but simms will improve and be good next year. Oklahoma has that defense coming back, colorado will still have those RBs, and Nebraska has a QB that's faster than crouch and can pass the ball(has talent like tommie frazier did). The big twelve will be back on top again next year. But quote me on this: Miami should win it all again next year. That whole team is coming back(read ESPN.COM). All and All the Big XII had the heisman award winner and four teams in the top ten. Thats better than what any other conference did this season. So once again the Big XII dominated again!!
I was one of those that praised the Big XII and Pac 10 all year. After the bowl season (4-4 and 2-3 respectively), both conferences were overrated. The underrated conferences were the Big East (4-1), the ACC (4-2) and the SEC (5-3). IMO the SEC proved to be the class of the country after all was said and done.
Mega you damn sheep, open your eyes and see the light. You only make yourself sound even more ignorant with your posts.
Megalodontknowshit your posts are as one-dimensional as Nebraska's offense. I'll give the cornholers credit though, when they have the horses, they are near unstoppable. This wasn't one of those years.
For the record the "big"12 was 3-5 in bowls this season, the winners being Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. The losers were Iowa State, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Colorado, and Nebraska. K-State, Nebraska, and Colorado were not only beaten, they were humiliated. The conference champion and the team selected to play in the NC game were total frauds at game time.
Crow about the polls all you want, the rest of the world saw that the "big"12's best couldn't get the job done in the big game.
The Big 12 sucks. They remind me of the Big 10 of the 80's and 90's. Man they were awesome - in the press guides. Boy they could play! Until they played a team that wasn't in their conference. Arkansas almost beat Oklahoma! You know, reigning champs, should have run the table again Oklahoma - barely beat a door mat in the SEC this year. Nebraska got EXPOSED - they did have the horses this year, but the mystique is gone. If you get your hands up and stop the constant chop blocking and lay a couple of good licks on them - THEY FOLD. For all of the talk of the black shirts and walk ons and nutrition stuff - they're average, and got to Pasadena on reputation alone. Remember when Washington beat Miami in Miami snapping their 56 game winning streak about ten years ago? That broke that programs back until just now. That home-winning streak was the last claim to "elite" status that they had. The same thing is about to happen to Nebraska. Miami played them straight up and whipped them - hear that closely, WHIPPED them. As a team falls further and further, their fans get louder and louder - ask Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio St. et al. Osborne isn't there now to save them - good luck recruiting for Solich. The clock is ticking Mega - wave the flag while you can because the army of mediocrity is storming the gates. Enjoy life in the middle again, they saved a spot for you - between USC and Virginia Tech.
I posted that the Big 12 pulled the tank job of all time, mid Nov - present. I can't believe Mega is such a blind SHEEP he won't admit the obvious.
"If you don't believe me then look at the polls!!"
That shoots holes in your argument right there.
"Sec have three teams in the top ten( UT,FL,LSU), while the Big XII has four teams( NU,UT,CU,OKL)."
Those three SEC teams won their bowl games (56-23, 45-17, 47-34). Texas beat an undermanned Washington team in the final seconds, Okla beat Ark by a TD. Nebraska obviously got the living hell beaten out of them as did Colorado. So much for the strength of the top of the Big 12. I feel as stupid as the next person. I truly thought they were the class of the nation this year.
The SEC made a strong case as the top conference. The top 4 teams in the SEC all won their bowl games. IMO that beats the hell out of meaningless bowl wins of SEC #5 over Big 12 #6 etc, like the SEC West Sheep generally like to crow about. The SEC had 5 teams finish ranked & was the strongest the conference has been since 1998.

What makes you think Texas' opponent was undermanned? If Washington was undermanned, Michigan was as well. You can attack the Big 12 and it's choke job (by several teams); however, leave Texas out of it. Like Tennessee, we were but a few seconds from being undefeated. (Except in our case we didn't lose to two teams ((one at home)) that we were heavily favored to beat).
Hook 'Em and Go Big Orange
p.s. I'll be a more adament Vol fan after I start school there in the Fall.
Texas should've blown Washington right out of the game, and they had to come back to win in the last seconds. No team did less with more this year than Texas, that team along with Florida and Miami had the most talent in the country. The only one that didn't underacheive was Miami.
The Big XII proved to be a fraud in the bowl season. I was wrong of course about the 4-4, my mistake. Of their "big boys" (Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, and Nebraska) two were beaten badly, one scraped by a middle of the road SEC team, and the other had to come from behind against a team that was nowhere near their equal.
