In search of the eternal feel good, the KNS jumps the gun

It was reported in yesterday's Sent-to-hell, that Stallworth would come back to UT for senior season. In the midst of reading the TENNESSEAN this morning, in an article where Kelley Washington declared himself eligible for the NFL draft, there was this tidbit concerning Stallworth.

"Meanwhile, junior receiver Donte' Stallworth said last night he was now ''60-40'' in favor of making himself available for the draft. He was flying back to Knoxville late last night from his home in Sacramento, Calif., and said he wanted to sleep on it before announcing his final decision tomorrow at a noon news conference.

''I think I'd be taking a chance whether I stayed or came out,'' Stallworth said. ''The NFL people have told me that I could go anywhere from the middle of the first round to the middle of the second round. But if I do as well as I know I could in the workouts, I think that would solidify me as a first-round pick.

''I'm not going to jump out there yet and say I'm definitely coming out. Everybody knows how I can change my mind. But I've done more research on this than anything else in my life, and that's the way I'm leaning right now.''"

It's never ceases to amaze me the way the KNS will go as far as shoddy reporting to hide the TRUTH from the SHEEP. No wonder there are so many wooly ones that roam the hills of East Tennessee.

You criticise KNS when they don't break a story. If they're right on Stallworth will you eat your words? It's just like people mad on this boad about Basilio story being in paper first. Isn't it quite odd that this board didn't know what happened (with all contacts with TB) and the Sentinel had the story. If i remember right, KNS did a big takeout on talk radio with TB's photo on front page of the main section.

This solidifies my position on the News Sentinel's vol coverage: it's terrible. I like John Adams' columns, but Mike Griffith is horrible. In those articles where Griffith said Stallworth was staying, there was not ONE SINGLE quote from DS in any of them. That's bad journalism.

Chris Lowe is much better than Griffith, and it's not even close. Lowe covers UT football, basketball and recruiting (football and basketball), and does a tremendous job on all fronts. The NS can't even come close to Lowe.
