I e-mailed Bruno this morning and much to my surprise he responded in about 10 minutes. Here is what he wrote:
Thanks for the love sir. I talked with some people
yesterday(including the Knoxville news) and
unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about the
stations decision. I'm hearing that we may be back on
another station in town soon. We can only hope. The
folks in Knoxville have been THE most vocal and
supportive of this show - more than any other city in
America. That's why the decision is not only
dissapointing, but surprising.
Thanks so much for all of your support and don't be
surprised to hear the "extravaganza" back soon.
your friend,
Tony Bruno
The news was a total surprize to me and I wasn't aware
of it until I got the first of hundreds of e-mails
this morning from Knoville and checked out the
newspaper story.
Sports radio doesn't normally generate big ratings,
but if you have a good sales staff, you can sell the
hell out of it.
Here in La(a bad sports town)..there are now 4 ALL
SPORTS STATIONS!!! My show and station get the best of
the watered down ratings, but obviously money is being
made if 4 stations are trying it.
I check around and see what I can find out today, but
I doubt there is anything I can do about it.
thanks,
tony b
Based on the number of posts from people saying they miss his show, I say yes. People that visit this board are a small fraction of the number of listeners to his or any other show.
