Well, Ole Piss basketball is stinky and rotten; Championships and rings are long forgotten; We kicked that ass, kicked that ass, kicked that ass, in BuzzyLand; Well, I'm glad I'm not in Oxfraud; Hooray! Hooray! Cause Rebels fans are Redneck flagwavers, who live and die without rings; Hooray! Hooray! I'm glad I'm uuuuuuuuuuup in Knoxville!
Bruno ripped Ktown. Someone needed to wake up all
of the local broadcast companies from their 20 year
slumber. -Too much of the same old thing. Station
variety is a concept that continues to go in one ear
and out the other. I hope that once Tony gets his feet
planted at 850, he can reel Bruno back in.
I always thought that Knoxville was one of the worst sports town from an overall perspective but apparently interest was/is there for the national shows, though I'm sure little support is given to anything from ESPN radio. It always seemed to be such a college (and college football specifically) town that the other going-ons in the world of sports were overlooked regularly.
What a ridiculous blurb about Vitale giving the SEC credibility. Vitale is a ACC blowhard that's act has grown very old. What a clown, I don't need him to see that the SEC and Big 12 are the premier conferences in hoops this year.
.............44s, as you go around the U.S., you'll find that college football is underappreciated, believe me. The big market towns report it at the BCS title game as a sidelight. They will never understand SEC football.......the most we'll get is guys like Tim Brando, with his little "sidelights" at the last Titans' game. I come from one of the "media hubs", got force-fed Notre Dame football for years!!!!!
I wasn't saying college football isn't great, in fact along with college hoops those are by far my two favorite seasons to follow. My point was that it always seemed like other things (NHL, NFL, MLB, etc.) that go on in sports never seemed to get much attention in K-town. If you listen to national shows, they generally focus on pro sports. I'm just surprised that Knoxville supports any national programs.
