I have no idea what sports-talk show hosts make, but Dewey has brought his own band of merry listeners to his show as has Tony! Some have stated that they won't listen to the other show.

Will Tony's cash flow to Horne equal Dewey's?

Imagine what kind of paycut Tony must be taking. And wasn't Tony the Sports Director at 1240 also?

He should be BELOW Dewey in the pecking order at 850. Dewey should make at least $5,000 more than TB. Nothing against TB, I like him and his show alot. But going from 1240am, with a sister FM station simulcast, to a station that breaks up in West Knoxville is nothing more than a demotion.

TB just needs to take out the trash, and that is all. I've posted this several times, and I know he has read it, HE JUST NEEDS TO DO IT.

He could have a good show, BUT HE NEEDS TO NUKE SOME CALLERS. The first time Catfish references "Colonel Condit" it would be an automatic 1 month suspension. PhakeCatfish wouldn't be allowed to call in at all. 63 would be MUZZLED like a damn plowhorse, and be restricted to Ole Piss talk only. Gus would be banned for any "Michelin Man" jokes.

TB can do it, he has it in him. The Stable will just have to find another hobby that's all.

Like playing in traffic.

You're kidding, right? Both Tony and Dewey's ratings are abysmally bad (<2.0 compared to 10 for 990). Neither show generates much ad revenue probably because most listeners don't want to hear the same 15-20 callers EVERY SINGLE DAY SAY BASICALLY THE SAME THING.

JC and his merry band of idiots and malcontents (Phil, small mike, BamaFever, Big Blue, TennStud, etc.) are legends only in their own minds and the 50 or so people who post on this board. For the tens of thousands of listeners, they simply turn to the dial to Giggles and Glen Campbell and ignore them.

When Dewey and Tony learn that the "Stable" does NOT generate ratings, maybe they can actually be competitve in this market and make some money too.

if 1240's rating was a 2.0, 850 is not even a blip on the screen. Let's not sugar coat this, Tony has a LONG way to go with this. And having the Stable with him, will be like trying to swim in Norris Lake with a freakin' millstone around your neck.

You may swim a few strokes, but you'll sink eventually.

He needs to grow more wool.

If I were him, I'd stay in touch with my headhunter. Wonder if he regrets not taking that gig in Atlanta about a year ago?

I agree. 850 could not possibly have the market that 1240 had (and it paled compared to the Frog).

No doubt about it, it will be deja vu all over again if Tony keeps the same idiots on his new show he had on 1240. He did have a few good regular callers (beano, e.g.), but unfortunately the few good ones were overshadowed by the JC's of the area. Tony will soon be looking for work again unless he changes his marketing and gets rid of JC, Phil, Tenn. Stud, BamaFever, Big Blue, PhakePhil, just to name a few.

Btw, my post was a response to the original thread, not to yours (sorry for the confusion).

I have no idea what either of these two guys are gonna making dollar wise and I don't think it's anybody's damn business.

If Dewey and Tony are pleased with their positions and their income then what business is it of ours to debate their pay?

One thing I would be willing to bet on: Tony will get out and sell his show as well as Dewey's and make some nice $$ along the way.
