Coach Fulmer's NFL influence:
As usual the local & national media noise about a head ball coach going to the NFL for $5 million/year has dominated the Knoxville market! I am not going to bring up the fact that Spurrier mentioned in his final FL media show the loss to TN or that he is making $5M while a guy who has battled him even or better over the last 4 years is making 1/3 of the salary the head ball of the 'skins.
We have pointed out time & again that unlike Mack Brown or Ron Zook, Coach Fulmer does not have to kick the talent off the door step like they do in FL & TX, where warm weather & some tradition make ball a year-round sport! He has to fetch it, as we might say.
Obviously, schools use Coach Fulmer's supposed jump to the NFL to recruit against him & us. That is part of being at the top of the flag pole as Coach Majors says. Coach Fulmer already has demonstrated his influence on the NFL, so why go?. I will not mention coaches who have worked for him who are in the NFL, but I will mention that of the 12 NFL teams that started the playoffs, 10 of them have a player who played for Coach Fulmer! Now that is NFL influence! I think only Chicago & New England do not have a UT product on their roster.
He just keeps plugging along!

-I'm a Buc's fan, but have been very impressed with how
Garner has performed. -As well as most of the UT guys
have played on the field, they also seem to take their
jobs seriously and stay out of trouble. I hope that,
eventually, T Martin will get a shot to play first team
somewhere.
