Just wondering when Sports Parlor South would be dominated by sports-related discussion?
I vote for the following separate sections: music, public notices, religion, gossip, media, & of course sports. Make it like the Knoxville News-Sentinel or at least call it:
Vincent with 5 seconds to go in regulation has a clear path to the basket for the win but passes to a triple teamed Haislip and he can't get the shot off.
First overtime, Grindstaff steals ball from Shumpert to lay in the tying layup to go to 2 OT.
Second overtime, Yarbrough has last second pass to Stribling for the win intercepted by Shumpert for a last gasp half court shot......BOTTOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
UT is way overdue. Plus the fact it is a home game and Syracuse is a bad road team.
****
If you remember last year's game between these two clubs, Syracuse has huge match-up problems with UT's frontline.

I was glad to see that Peterson finally made a line-up change, in an effort to shake things up, but what took so long ???? I'm glad to see Derek Stribling more playing time-- this fellow has a bright future.

PS Last night I saw Isiah Victor at a local Grocery store pushing a baby carriage, which was occupied by two children. Does anyone know what Victor is doing ???? Is he playing anywhere ???
AIM, please elaborate on "Syracuse is a bad road team." IMO they are actually much worse as a home team than a road one.
This game scares me, because it's a classic Cuse choke job. UT has talent (as does Syracuse) but UT's frontline goes directly against the weakness of SU. One thing favoring the Orange(men) is that the center combo of Craig Forth/Jeremy McNeil is light years better than last years debacle in the middle that UT exploited at will. It will be close but I'm gonna go with UT 77-74. The Vols are due a win, particularly in a close game.
I will say that Syracuse has MUCH more to lose than UT has to gain. The Big East is terrible, and for SU to hold a 2-3 seed in the NCAA they have to get the W here but I don't see it happening.
At this stage of the season, with the Volunteers needing a win in a hurry and in a big way, will sieze the home advantage while Syracuse with the L, won't skip a beat as they travel on down the road.
need to go support a team that has hung in there, except for a few lapses. Now is the time when these players & coaches need fan support. The NFL millionaire's club & NFL playoffs don't need it, but these VOLS do!
Had FL in the bag & dropped it. The 'cuse is no FL.
Grindstaff will get us started more quickly. Vincent will play big, but not at crunch time. Slay will be in trouble from the start, because he will be playing last year's game & showboating(I hope not.).
UT Orange fans are shorting themselves if they do not go watch Marcus Haslip play in person these last 8 home games!! The guy will be the difference tonight!
MH and RS will need to play through halftime with no more than 2 fouls a piece. Grindstaff, Higgins & Holden need to knock down some 3 pointers. Cuse will play zone but won't let RS kill them like last year. There will be open shots, we have to knock them down.
If we win it will be by 10-15, if the game is close we will lose. I'll say Tennessee 79-68
